A couple days ago a virus gutted my computer and I had to reformat it.
Not sure of the exact specs but before I do know that it could run source games without any problems. So I got it running, reinstalled all the drivers, reinstalled steam, downloaded all my games and found that none of the source games want to start.
They all crash on startup.
The generic "hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." message that doesn't give much of a hint as to what the problem actually is.
For some reason half-life 1 games run fine.
