Can't edit Microphone Options; "exec: couldn't exec userconfig.cfg"

Whenever I attempt to turn off Boost Microphone gain in options I get this in console:

exec: couldn't exec userconfig.cfg
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/config.cfg

Upon exiting options and reentering I find that the box is reticked and I can't seem to do anything to fix this. I've checked the config file and it is not set as read only, I've made a "userconfig.cfg" file in the same folder to see if that does anything, and it didn't.

Any ideas?

I also get that error each time I edit something with my settings, but it still works.
So, just ignore that error.

Well, mine don't save. The controls save, but voice options don't.
