Hello!
A few hours ago I bought Garry's Mod on to my other Steam account. (I now have two Garry's Mods because why the heck not).
Now a question got me wondering. Is there a way to connect my old Steam games to my current Steams Garry's Mod, so that I have more Gmod content?
If not, then I'll just re-buy the games which is fine by me, but I prefer to save up.
Going to be honest here. I really don't know if this is the right place to make this topic.
As far as I know you can't do that. I have two accounts with gmod as well and really you'd rather just rebuy the orangebox at a steam sale and some other games for like 10€.
Alright. Sad to hear it, yet I'm willing to do it.

Other solutions would probably be considered warez. Best solution would probably be to to wait a couple weeks until the Winter sale
You could try getting into the Steam Family Sharing Beta and using that.
I've made my decision. I'll wait for the winter sale and buy the game.
Or get a friend to gift em for me.

Or you could use your 2nd Garry's Mod copy and give it to the other account.

Im pretty sure you can but only if both steam accounts run from the same directory, gmod searches steamapps/common for data. Alternatively you could just do this: [url]http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=157993776[/url]
the feature is part of valves official server tool so its not like its illegal to get the files that way
Just use gcfscape (or any other .vpk extractor) to extract the desired games' content and put it in an addon or in your in gmod/gmod directory. (If you were to get css' content just open cstrike_pak_dir.vpk in gcfscape and extract all the content you may need)
As long as you don't start sharing the content it's completely legal to do so (at least here in germany).

IIRC you got GAC banned for installing a module and lied (or not) about it being hidden in a smartsnap exe that installed it silently causing you to get banned.
not sure whether it's still legal to do Lenny's method but probably it doesn't matter.
You could always simlink the secondary accounts to the main account so that you get the resources from the games you have purchased on your main account.

You're very much welcome. Some friends taught me it awhile ago for saving dupes on another harddrive, its incredibly useful :)
