After fighting with a DDOS for the past month or so, down times increased, then a 500 error talking about how the errors were to great. After that, there was a sudden blank white page where the explanation was, and then finally

Because lots of people avidly and continously play Garrysmod - it has a wide community. DDOS attacks between servers and competition happen all the time on various games, but you only really hear about them on games with thriving communities.
It doesn't look dead to me.
This just in: It's not the first time TnB has "died"
I'm impressed how long they've been alive, I really don't like their servers.

It's when a dispute of differences come along. Anger, frustration, and attacks will occur. When someone is bent on revenge for a ban or offence by a single member of another community, He will believe the other community is idiotic and stupid. And if said person has the technology. Fighting will happen.

Also, in regards to what Nikota said, I've only seen that in kuro's gamemodes. Most serious RP servers I play on never enforce this, because it's stupid.

Indeed, hardly ever RP goes on in their servers, but they were one of the most lasting community on the GMod scene.

I'm sorry but its been about one week, not one month. Just because some basement dweller is devoted enough to attack a server for one week doesn't mean a community is dead.
Lets all hate on a community because they banned me for disobeying the server rules.
I hope they close down because their community is a well known name.
I've never played on a TnB server but every ones so butthurt I guess I'll just join in.
TnB may have the super evil serious RP admins but they're just upholding the rules the server follows.

1. I've never been banned from a TnB server.
2. I don't really care that it's a well-known name, that's certainly not a good reason to dislike a community.
3. I've been on TnB's HL2RP server city/canals, and their TRP server, albeit a long time ago, it was enough to put me off for life.
Like I said earlier, guncirclejerks where the quality of RP for normal 'citizen joe' characters is poor at best.
'Let's get pushed around by Tech-Comm, or flayed alive, yay!'
'Let's get pushed aroud by the Combine, or detained for four hours, yay!'
The fact the admins are indeed 'nazi's' and GMC exists (which is very crippling when you take note of the fact without a gun you are nothing) really don't help.
Fair enough then, every roleplay server has their ups and their downs like the ones you stated, I know that these problems do exist and like every community I hope administrators are attempting to fix the problems.
TRP admins kick people out of TechCom without warning if the victim posts logs of the unfairness and as far as I've heard the RDAs and SEA are attempting to make citizen roleplay on hl2 more interesting.
As for people with guns we're mainly talking about chavs who have spent their hard earned monies for special models and for the ability to spawn whatever gun they want and for whoever they want. They enjoy TnB that much they are willing to contribute to keeping the servers up.
The fact you can relate with what i'm saying about TnB is interesting as the last time I went on a TnB server was about two years ago.

I didn't like TnB's servers, but I must say they produced some excellent maps. City 8, for example.
I do, or did, play TnB and even comment on some of their issues on their forums from time to time. I tried to stay optimistic and all, but it's generally true - as a Citizen, as a Refugee, and as a Stalker, the only way you're going to make a difference is by Donating, getting that 1/50 odds of luck in a rare situation, or by getting a gun. And having a gun is more likely to get you banned if you do one screw-up with it.
I'm not trying to blast it, infact I have some small glimmer of hope that one of them reads this and actually responds in an intelligent manner about it instead of the usual drama wars.
Infact, i'm starting to think Garry's Mod roleplay is reaching the limit since everything is so similar. There's either got to be reform eventually, or it's just going to not completely die out but be like a wounded dog whimpering on the ground that everyone kicks.
I personally believe seriously Role-play is slowly dying.
