• Error message spamming my console

Ok quick thing. I have my own server and in it the follow message spams CONSTANTLY.......... To the extent its actually making it hard to use the console because with ulx the message is instantly gone because it spams so fast lol......... Quite a hinderance o_0 " Material models/spawn_effect2 does not support vertex format used by the mesh (maybe missing fields or mismatched vertex compression?), mesh will not be rendered. Grab a programmer!" I mean what the fudge? It makes me think its an addon but it CAN'T be, I mean this is a recently set up server but I've used all the addons before last year when I had a server......... Any suggestions? I'm open to anything XD....... Quick things: 1) I use DarkRP 2.4.1 (Yes yes DarkRP is only for losers and thus, I fail in life lol) 2) I know someone else who gets this too on the server so not just me........ Need any other just ask Cheers in advance!
This is happening in our build server too. Please help.
Can you both post your addons-list? You say that its not your addons, but, I would like to see it. And by the way, if you used an addon like 1 year ago, doesn't mean that it's still compatible with your server.
Fair enough I use: Ulx Assmod (I find they compliment each other) Wiremod Phx Stacker-advanced Playx Door stool Keypad DarkRP as I said Smart Constraint Model Manipulator Conna's tool pack Weight stool Ravebreak
Anyone know?
Something might of been messed up with the server. Try reinstalling it.
Ulx (This one OR Assmod....) Assmod (I find they compliment each other) (This one OR ULX....) Wiremod (Shouldn't be the problem) Phx (Same) Stacker-advanced (Why not the OL Stacker?) Playx (What is this?) Door stool (Shouldn't be the problem) Keypad (Same) DarkRP as I said (Same) Smart Constraint (Same) Model Manipulator (Why this? It's a RP server) Conna's tool pack (Shouldn't be the problem) Weight stool (Same) Ravebreak (Un-useful and old...)
So your basically saying its either assmod or ulx? P.S Don't diss ravebreak it kicks ass the server loves it lol
I have this problem also.
So your basically saying its either assmod or ulx? P.S Don't diss ravebreak it kicks ass the server loves it lol
It's the same as 2 virus scanners on 1 PC. They hate the other one, and say it's a virus.
Can't be that, sure I've used ulx and assmod in conjunction with each other for years.......
Ok it happens in SP and on the server............... Is it me then? I'm so confused lol..... Also I've been REALLY googling it and apparently alot of people have this problem..... Some person suggested its a problem with the hl2 engine merging with garrysmod? But why does it only effect SOME people then? Its DEFO not just me and DEFO not addons now I've removed them all and got into the server and its still there..... Its also in single player too..... I went into my clientside garrysmod>materials>model and there IS a file called spawn_effect2.vmt. I tried deleting that thinking maybe SOMEHOW it got corrupted but no no, its still there o_0. It happens the moment the prop, any prop at all, is spawning in. You know when the prop is kinda, i dunno how describe it, fazing into the map? While that is going on the message just continually spams the console if I open up the console like a prop is spawning in. Once the prop spawns in, the error stops spamming but sure it could have spammed like 50 in those couple of seconds. Its a real hinderence and awkward..... Any help at all guys? Come on I nothing here and you's know all. Lend a hand and show your awesomeness XD
It's a wiremod problem. Ask them to stop overwriting models/spawn_effect2
So I have to stop using wiremod? But why can other people use it without this happening then? Is there a console command I can use to stop it from spamming at least? Even that would do if I can't actually fix it lol And can't be wiremod I removed it clientside, started up a SP and it still spams..... Unless I have to do a deeper clean then just remove it from addons folder
I've looked through Wire. It doesn't modify anything like this, from what I can see.
Well cheers for checking up on that at least ^^
I think the model is generated on the fly from the model you selected. If this is the case, then I'd guess only Garry and anyone else on his team with sufficient knowledge could fix this. I'd guess this is correct as it started when a recentish update was released.
A full reinstall of gmod doesn't fix it, I already tried. Also I think this started after Garry made an update.
What you mean "the model is generated on the fly from the model you selected"?
The effect is the effect which is applied when you spawn a model. The effect model is most likely changed when you spawn it.
I've been getting this problem too. And another problem, possibly related, Dupe and Adv Dupe don't work anymore. No on screen errors pop up with dupe, but Adv Dupe complains about some phys_model something not existing for each part in the dupe. I don't actually remember the exact error message, but I get the feeling it's somehow related to this other problem.
It's not.
The effect is the effect which is applied when you spawn a model. The effect model is most likely changed when you spawn it.
Yeah thats what I figured out too..... Just dunno what to do about it o_0
Nothing, wait for Garry to fix it, I guess.
Another problem is people's gmod game crashes while joining my server.... I mean what the fudge? Honestly..... I haven't updated.... I haven't put any new addons on..... haven't touched the files in the slightest. In essence, I have done NOTHING to the server but suddenly people crash once it gets to "sending client info".... So frustrating. Just in case anyone else has this problem I've googled and googled it and its just a problem with a Garrysmod update and won't be fixed till HE (Mr G himself) fixes it /rant over :D
the dupe error is with carters pack, but they have now fixed it, and the error in console is for everything, plz garry, remember this saying DON'T TRY AND FIX SOMETHING THAT ISN'T BROKEN!
