TTT - Can't Init - Game Mode Not Loading

- Processor Pentium 4 2.7 Ghz
- RAM 512MB
- Graphics Card Stock On-Board
- Operating System Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop Edition x32-Bit

I've tried using the TTT content that came with Gmod, I tried using the SVN, I even tried running the server as root (I know it's a bad idea), but I just can't get it to change the game mode, and upon starting the server, my console is flooded with can't init <entity name here>

What can I do?

Edit:

I checked permissions, CHMODed everything to 777 or 775 where necessary.

Edit (Again):

I set sv_defaultgamemode to "terrortown" and sv_gamemode to "terrortown", I still get the same error and "gamemode" responds "sandbox"

You need a better computer. You need at least 1.5gb of RAM to properly run Garry's Mod. And a stock video card is never good.

Also, since Linux is case sensitive with file names which could also be the problem.

I'm not running Gmod, I'm running the server with HLDS.

I'll give that a shot, but I don't see how that's going to help my server change the gamemode.
