I need help downloading the addons to gmod from Garrysmod.org

use WinRAR, extract files to the addons folder or to the maps folder in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\*lightninlew*\garrysmod\garrysmod

Precisely what I was going to say.
someone should just make a addon megathread or something explaining every method, then have it pasted to the top of this forum section. save all of us alot of time.
Just piggybacking off the original question, does anyone know where I can find out what downloads I need to make most of the others work as purposed, I'm new and confess to being stupid...
