Dedicated Server Opening - Garry's Mod

[b]Hello, I own a [highlight]24 slot dedicated server[/highlight][/b] at the moment I have no plans for gamemodes.ect so if you would me to host your gamemode here or beta test it I would be willing to help! please just comment here with your [highlight][b]gamemode name, type and steamid.[/b][/highlight] it could get hosted [b]perma![/b] i really like the roleplay style, but i'm fed up with Darkrp. i'm open to ideas though [highlight][b][u]Rules:[/u][/b][/highlight] [list]no crappy Darkrp edits.[/list] [list]no leaked gamemodes.[/list]

I wouldn't need it perma, but I have friends who like to mess around with me on my sandbox server, but a homehost isn't too stable >:(.

Can i just ask, how is it a 24 slots dedicated server, like a dedi just for a server with 24 slots?

Yes, but a server with 24 slots is NOT a dedi. A dedi is a server box in a datacenter somewhere (If hosted properly...). Yours is a 24 slot Game Server, not a Dedi....

There are two typed of servers, Listen Servers, and Dedicated Servers, server hosters refer to a Dedicated Server as a "Server Box" because you can host multiple servers on there, but a Dedicated Server is one not hosted by you, but by someone else, so a Single Server in the Server Browser could be a Dedicated Server.

Mine is hosted in a server box in a datacenter, on its own. not through a company. privately owned, therefore ultra stable :D

Depends on things like power as well. One host I know specifies your server must not draw more than 0.4 amps, otherwise you get charged a considerable amount more. Colocation isn't the money-saving solution most people seem to think it is. If your server fails, you'll have to replace the hardware yourself. With renting, the host pays for the replacements. The advantage with colocation is you can install whatever you like on whatever hardware you like, as long as the host has space for it.

Can you make the server run redead gamemode? I just want to play that gamemode again.

It had a buy menu, infection, classes, and other good stuff. The gamemode died out due to small amount of maps and the release of left 4 dead. Just read the thread for more info. I will probably get a friend of mine to fix up the gamemode a bit but so far it runs decently.
