I know there are probably looadddssss of TortoiseSVN tutorials out there, but there's ALWAYS people that say they "don't understand". So this is just another one of those tutorials trying to get it into their skulls.

This is the simplest SVN program to use (for me it is any way). I'll explain it all the way through and if there's something you don't understand PM me and I'll do my very best to help.

Downloading and Installation:
1) Download TortoiseSVN. Make sure you download the top 32bit one. (This is a program that was not specifically designed for GMod but is used for it)
2) Install it.

Using TortoiseSVN for GMod:
1)Go to C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/<YOURSTEAMNAME>/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons
2)I'm going to use PHX as an example. If you already have PHX2 then simply right click on it, then click SVN Checkout. In the 'URL of Repository' enter this 'https://phoenix-storms.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/phoenix-storms' (without quotes).
Then click 'Ok'.
3) It should then start downloading all of the things that you don't have that are in the repository.
1)If you don't have PHX2 or PHX just create a folder called 'PHX3' and then just follow the steps above.

Using TortoiseSVN for Wiremod:
1) Right click on garrysmod/garrysmod/addons.
2) Go to SVN Checkout
3) Then in the 'URL of Repository', put in 'https://svn.wiremod.com/svn/wiremod' (Without quotes)
4) Click 'Ok' and if it pops up with a password box type in 'anonsvn' for the user and the password. (without quotes.
Then you don't have to delete your old folders of Wire and the recreate them. You can just click SVN Update to get latest version.

Installing other GMod things with SVN:
There is a list of all the GMod packs using SVN here
Just follow the same method I explained for PHX.

Please let me know any problems you come into or if some of the information on this page is incorrect.
Just PM me or post here if you get stuck.
Update: Added an alternate way of getting WireSVN.
Update: Added new Wire SVN repository.
Update: Added TortoiseSVN download link.
Every time I download something through that method, I go into the game and there is no changes what so ever.
Hmmmm... go into your "C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/<YOURSTEAMNAME>/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons" and see if the addon is in there with a green circle with a tick inside beside it.
Yes, there's a green circle with a check mark in it.
You need to restart GMod. If not then I have no idea what to do. :/
I am technologically retarded...

I'm guessing you're trying to go to the SVN links with your browser, which you shouldn't do. If the above tutorial (which is very old by the way) didn't help you, try mine:

Oh! I though it needs to be launched in browser! :D

When I right click things, nothing about SVN shows up.
When I right click things, nothing about SVN shows up.
you have to right click a folder, and you have to install TortoiseSVN first
Yes I know, I have it installed.
When I right click a folder I don't see anything about SVN. I installed all components and I use 32-bit. HELP.
I have windows 7, is there a version for 7? If not, I'm screwed seeing errors on servers until they do.
When they mean "Windows" They mean every Windows OS

Well, I'm not getting the svn checkout option, I restarted and everything
EDIT--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------EDIT
Aparently it only registers the SVN check out when you get the 64bit for windows 7, and not the 32bit

Why would you get the 32-bit when you have a 64-bit OS?
