I can launch GMod fine from steam, it gets past the "preparing to launch" stage. But, as soon as the game window opens, it immediately stops responding and doesn't do anything.
I tried verifying the game files in steam - steam didn't do anything, at all
I verified them in GCFscape - all fine
I defragmented them with GCFscape
I deleted my steamapps\user\garrysmod folder
And tried launching again after all of those, but to no success.
If my system specifications are likely to help:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Intel i7-950
12GB DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD5870 family
I have updated my graphics card drivers to the latest provided by ATI.
