hi, i try to download maps from garrysmod.org, and i try to get the famous known ones, but sometimes they just dont show up. i dont know if this is because of another problem but when i looked in the maps folder i noticed that the maps that dont show up are .vms and not .bsp like the working maps are. does anyone know what i could do from here?
Open them in Hammer editor (which can be accessed from Source SDK in the tools menu of Steam) and compile them.
But that's obviously more hassle than you need to go through, just look for the .bsp of the map on garrysmod.org

is there any way to search specifically for .bsp maps on garrysmod.org? im specifically trying to get the map "new worlds" im very new to garrys mod so sorry if its an obvious answer :p
There isn't a specific way to search for .vmf files, but you could at least use a bit of initiative.
Here is (what I assume to be) the page you downloaded the .vmf file from.

On that page, you can see the author's name, and are able to click it, which takes you [url=http://www.garrysmod.org/user/?u=43105]here[/url].
