Almost every map i download on Garrysmod.org is missing textures and i really can't figure out why also the sky is messed up where it looks like something else i had looked at in the map (i.e. if i looked at the ground in flatgrass all i would see is grass im not having trouble with flatgrass it was an example). is there something im doing wrong or are the maps im getting outdated or what? i'm sorry if this has been fixed i was unaware.Some of the maps i was having trouble with were bestbuy-mds, Wal-mart_v5 and well most of the mds maps. Again im sorry if this is a stupid question.
What source games do you have? Other than GMod, of course.
I have Team Fortress 2 and Portal
Edit: as well as Hl2:lost coast and Hl2:dm
Episode 2 and Counter-Strike:Source are common sources for mappers, especially for the better ones. And before you ask, there is no legal way of getting textures and models from those games without buying them.
Also if you are having trouble with your water textures I.E when you dive in water you get pink and black cubes flling your sceen you'll need to download a water textures pack from gmod.org this fixed my water textures problem but i can't remember the name of the pack sorry.
alright thank you i appreciate the help i have 1 more question though is ep.1 also a common source (i will probly buy hl2 ep:2 but i dont see myself getting cs:s)
And the water has worked just fine thanks for the advice though
CS:S is probably more used than Ep2.
And Ep1 isn't really worth it for GMod content.
