• My terrible experience with Xenon Servers

Hello people. First i want to tell you that i made a huge mistake. I just found that i was downloading torrents (Stealthisfilm2) and that causes big lags for me.. So.. only problem was on my connection using. Thats everything, Big sorry for Xenon Servers. Moderators can remove this post. (-snip- at the end of post will looks weird)
Hello people. I am writing this post today to make you aware of a terrible hosting company, "Xenon Servers". I have recently purchased a server with them, the game-panel (TCAdmin) loads slowly, and I get an extremely high ping to my server - 180ms - when to other servers I get sometimes 5ms. I spent a large sum of money on a decent-sized server, and I am extremely disappointed with what I have got, and will be telling my friends to steer well-clear. Have a nice day, Riki
LOL. Hahahahahahaahaa. Hahahahahahahaahahaha. *Bangs fist on table*. *Snickers*. So uh, like, you didn't do research and didn't choose the closest location available to you (or your in a entirely different country) and your blaming THEM for that?. High ping usually means your far away from the source server (which you proved already in this thread by saying tcadmin loads slow). *Snickers*. Yes, clearly they are a horrible host because you have the IQ of a monkey. If you don't choose the server closest to you, or you go with a GSP in another country and expect the ping to be good then you have nobody to blame but yourself. *Snickers*. Thats how I interpreted what you said anyway, could be wrong :).
-snip-
That's your ping to the closest server. Not to your own. Like darksoul69 said you just picked a server location far from you. Which results in a higher ping. Edit: Although you still could be right. You should check the pings with other IPs in the same subnet.
Dear darksoul, Tell me what the f*** is this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/662155899.png Do you see something like 24ms ping?
Thats the f***ing server closest to you :). We have now established that you are in CA. If you can give us the IP to the server in question (with the port), we can determine if its actually a server issue or just you being a moron and choosing a server location far away from yourself. Throwing up threads like this bashing a company over nothing is not only ridiculous but outrages. It's also slander. You're damaging the reputation of a (very) good game server host - likely because you have been hired by another GSP (or you run one) in order to ruin the reputation of someone else to get more clients. Your OP had little to no information other then a high latency, which could be caused by anything. You are a real fine piece of work.
I rented out a server from Xenon, never had a problem. 32 slots and pings were always low when it was full. Support's great as well, gets back to you within the same day usually and solves your problem within the first response. You're most likely just too far from your server.

I've been hosting gmod servers since 2006 and only occasionally had to use the rented option - when I did it was either wolfservers or xeon, and I found xeon to be better then wolfservers by a mile (no offense to wolf servers though, they weren't that bad.)

I would love it if I could get one from NYC, would give me a 5 ping and allow the Euros to play with us as well with a less iffy connection.
-snip-
OP, your fault for being an idiot and renting a server from half the way across the USA from yourself.
servers are in dallas, no? i pinged san francisco. must i try another location?
You could give us the IP with the port of your server so we can test it out ourselfs and see if the issue is in fact xeon servers. But seeing as your slandering them, you might not want them to read the thread and find out which customer you are, right?.
Of course here is Xenon IP: 216.245.218.167:27015
There must be a mistake there. That IP is registered to Be Unlimited, a UK ISP. The new IP you posted looks more correct. Checking it out. Dallas, TX.
Of course here is Game Server IP: 78.105.234.62:27015
OP: Your not with Xeon Servers. It looks like your with ukgames or some other group. You also have the IQ of a monkey (seriously) as that server is in the UK. CA to UK = HIGH PINGS. AFAIK xeon is not operating in the UK.. so you just shot yourself in the foot. GTFO. Enough said? Also, if you opened a support ticket telling us about your problem, I'm sure that we would have given you a refund as you seem to be confused about the location or relative latency etc.

mine fault, yea.. :/
This has to be the shittiest post I've seen in a while.
What are you talking about it was an awesome post. Thank you darksoul for quoting everything.
But yeah, look into server locations before buying in the future.
Of Course.
There goes his privacy @ Brocko. You could've just posted where he lived.
That's what I did. Macro for effect.
I get horrible lag and crashes too. :c Except I'm not euro I'm from Canada
Open a support ticket, I will look into it for you.
I have, you keep saying gm_slog but no matter how I configure it my stuff breaks.
Cool fact: gm_slog causes some crashes while blocking others.
Cool fact: gm_slog causes some crashes while blocking others.
And now I know!
Bingo.
