[B]Alright so I've been realizing that people on the forum are going back to Pre-Spring of 2009. If you don't know what that means let me sum it up in a few words.
"Dark RP = Minge RP Q _Q "
I've seen both sides of this argument, and to say the least... I'm sick of both sides.
First off, I've seen everyone, and their dog bitch about Dark RP making more minges in Garry's Mod. Wait! Hold on... How could a [I]script [/I]make mingebags? It doesn't. If anything players who do not like Dark RP are the actual mingebags. Sorta confusing isn't it? Let me simplify it.
You have three groups of ranters. The cry babies, the logic, and the trolls.
The Cry Babies are your average group of 10 - 17 year old kids who can't think of any wise argument to sum up against Dark RP other then the fact some mingebag stole their printz with no roleplay reason. Generally, these players will come to Facepunch, Facebook, or the Server Hoster's forum, and write some long bullshit argument about how Dark RP should be abolished from Garry's Mod because it's too mingey.
This is why another group actually does conflict... The Trolls. The Trolls are actually a group of players generally from another gamemode, different belief, or just ventbags who have nothing better to do with their days, but make fun of younger players, and cause havoc to compensate for something they forgot in their dad's womb.
How do they conflict?
They conflict in many ways... First off The Trolls are generally the mingebag that started the issue by stealing/rdming the player for no roleplay reason. Trolls usually will start shit for a variety of reasons... A few of the high standard ones though are the following.
- To make a cry baby cry
- To make people dislike the gamemode
- Just to be a cockweed.
This sometimes is actually a good thing though. PAUSE. Did I just say 'The Trolls' doing their job is a good thing? Actually it is. If we didn't have trolls in the Dark RP community Server Providers, Falco, and Many Others wouldn't be able to have anything to bitch about therefore never benefiting the gamemode positively. At the same time they naturally will get themselves banned therefore it goes well into the ego-enviorment of things.... (will be explained later)
Alright. I basically explained The Trolls ,and The Cry Babies... But what about our friends The Logics.
Well The Logics are actually players like "Lankist". They know a lot more then your standard player/person, and they manage to hold their own without the need of a bandwagon. Or in general player terms... They don't need a pack of twelve year olds to defend their honor.
So how do they fall into our environment? Basically "The Logics" will cock-slap both "The Cry Babies" ,and "The Trolls" ,and tell them to cut the shit.
Simply said ,and simply put.
Now, I mentioned a tree earlier... How does the environment of Dark RP feed it-self....

Simply put, I don't give two shits about Darkrp. I don't play there and I will most likely never will. If you don't know me I play on serious servers. If someone new gets on a server I am familier with I will teach them and help them out but really I don't give a shit about what happens to Darkrp. Also I am tired of seeing these threads everytime I come to the roleplay fourm. That kind of shit gives us a bad name about roleplayers in general and thinks everyone is like that. So really if you don't like it then you can leave. If you love it then stay and try to give it a good name.

No, these kind of threads don't give roleplayers a bad name. It is people like yourself, who believe that they are "above" a certain group of players because they don't use a certain gamemode. The way you pointed out you only play "serious" RP shows that. DarkRP servers can be serious if the server administration is shit, and the script modifications are sound.
And once again, JoeSkylynx has made a bad thread that has no real point other that stir up a shitstorm. This just describes what we already know, but leaves out one important group, people in the middle, people such as myself, I can see the good in all the scripts available, and the bad in them, I don't discriminate on script, but on community. A trend I am seeing in the newer scripts made by the "serious" RP devs is a growing number of features that have no use whatsoever in the script, stupid restrictions, and most of all, these devs think that selling a gamemode is fine.
Did you not read what I said? I said I don't give a shit about the gamemode that dose not mean I hate it. The gamemode does have potential but its just everything else. Really what he said its the roleplayers that make it bad and minges seem to love it. Listen if it was the other way around like Tacoscript or nexus being mingefeast I would join Darkrp in a heartbeat. Also I wasn't talking about Darkrp when "This kind of shit gives us a bad name." Well in if you go back to like 2006/2007 it was a different conflict. Normal gmodders v roleplayers you either liked to roleplay or you didn't so everyone would argue about that.
