Hosting in Australia - Garry's Mod

Are there any good (cheap prefered) hosts in Australia?

The last host I remember was JuicedServers.com.au (or similar), however they closed down. Looks like as of now, there are no Aus hosters. Even if there were, since server prices are incredibly high, it would be high priced regardless.

I was acctually quite disapointed that they do not tell you that the servers are Linux.

This means, when you need support, they're nowhere to be seen. I am a little nasty... with the .20's and etc, but I'm actually still configuring prices FOR Garry's Mod, Branding Removal is about to be lowered, and installations are going to be made free. As for 27 a month, For Australia, thats actually pretty good. Cubos is actually really cheap for a Australian owned Garry's Mod servers. Actually, Its the best I've ever seen. I've rarely see Garry's Mod servers for under $5 a slot, and some places go as high as 5.75.

Actually, I agree with you, but generally, that's actually pretty cheap. Excluding hosts that either A. Not from Australia/Expanding INTO Australia. B. Already have a large enough customer-base. Regrettably, I, as of now, Can't go lower.

Its fairly stable, I had issues with small lag spikes, I asked them whats going on, they where moving some of the game servers to diffrent boxes as they were about to Fail. After that it was all good. They dont offer mod instaltion just yet, they said once it becomes more popular they will include some. There is no Content, just bare bones Garry's Mod. Debranding is free as standard. No Public/ Private server stuff. Most peoples ping who joined where under 100.

Well, anyway, (God I'm butchering the commas aren't I) @OP I hope you find the best deal you can. While I wish you'd go with me, regrettably I can't see you doing it. I am at least happy to say we're pretty cheap for the other games we host, It's just in the Garry's Mod area that we're a bit... expensive. Still, not as expensive as a LOT of others i've seen

However, Australia has got a HORRIBLE network infrastructure, possibly the worst in the First World, and compared to most other source games, uses a massive amount of CPU and Network Resources. Because of this many Australian GSPs charge more to host Gmod because it needs more resources. I, unfortunately, also have to charge such a high price for it. If I ever have a large enough Customer-base to be able to afford charging less, well then I'd be GLAD to charge lower prices, however. I don't.

I don't.[/QUOTE] Actually you're making the problem sound worse than it is, most server providers charge <$3.50 and if they charge more it's because they're just plain silly.

You're right. I am probably playing it up a bit. Many GSP's CAN provide it for lower. I however can't. But I'm happy to say that I'm cheaper than [url]http://www.quadeye.com.au/whmcs/cart.php?gid=16[/url] who charge 5.75 per slot, and a few other GSPs.

This is why we bought our own 2RU servers to host our own gear. Aus GSP hosting is a joke in most cases. Just got to find the right DC, that's the key ;)
