Manual fix for people to be able to join your server.

As everyone knows by now, after the update, there is something wrong with the servers which will not allow people to join them, they will see the loading screen for a split second and be booted back to the main menu.
Some servers have manually fixed this it appears and I remember seeing a post on the forums last night on how to fix it on your own but I cannot remember any details in the post nor what the thread was called. I tried searching and could not find it. Also I seem to remember some information missing that stopped me from figuring out what to do at 2AM when I was getting tired.
So I was wondering if anyone could give me a step-by-step on what I need to do to fix that, so that when I "Create Multiplayer" people will be able to join my server/game successfully after the update.
Thanks.
I got rid of all custom modules (such as gm_gamedescription) and updated the dedicated server. That worked for me.

Thing is I don't have a dedicated server and I don't have any custom modules that I know of (unless you mean wire and phx and such?). I just want to create a game on my client computer for 2-3 people so me and my friends can play together.
