Play multiplayer achievement in single player f'd up gmod

After i deleted the client registry.blob file in an attempt to fix a problem and started up a single player game, i got play multiplayer achievement as one of the starting messages. Now, options after playing gmod reset on restart after changing options. What's going on and how do i fix the options reseting glitch?
