anyways, there are so many downtown vmfs out there, all it takes to make a new downtown is to find a vmf that was already made and tweak a few brushes and textures. just don't trade with people if you don't know 100% that they will actually go through with the deal.

isn't there an addon for that? don't make people download a map they have just for a different billboard texture.

Like, seriously. It wouldn't take too much for someone to write you a simple entity in Lua that places a billboard in the map, or can override the texture on the billboard (failing that, it could just place a simple bit of 3D2D over the billboard with your texture).
You should have just gave him cards. :v:
So after spending 5 minutes actually bothering to look around the map, there's quite a few billboards :v: So adding 3D2D stuff over all of them with your logo would take ages, and as the billboards used are a model replacing the texture isn't reasonable.
Though making a script that plops a new billboard down somewhere is still totally reasonable.

that's regardless, downtown_v4c is an edit of the first version of downtown because it lacks every single feature that downtown_v2 brought to the map, there is no tunnel system, there is still that massive penthouse apartment on the top of one of the blocks.
As to my knowledge, the pro never released a v1 vmf as well as the fact that v4c features copy/pasted buildings from Jamzzters maps
