What has the community to say of this?
I for one think this way: On the good side, no more trolls. Then again, they weren't much of a problem anyways.
The downside? No critique or criticism, or other vaguely negative comments- no more pointing out that nobody downloads crummy "Kill Breen" saves- and, with that, no more stopping the flood of crap uploads with which the site has been plagued.
Oh yes- and no negative comments against this rule and its scary red text, either. Because I got blocked for speaking out against it.

Above conversation was in response to a "Manhack jellyfish reskin". And now I can't even respond to this idiot; talk about a bummer.

"Sugarcoat everything you say," it states, "and don't bother being at all constructive or critical- or else you're a [I]troll[/I] and ought to be [I]banned[/I]".
Well, blocked or not, I don't think I'm going to stand for this- I think I'm entitled to leave my opinion, and no amount of red text is going to prevent me from doing so.
They could just ban certain steam accounts from posting comments..
EDIT: Though everything posted on GMod.org which is fairly decent is in other places too, so I guess it wouldn't be such a loss if anyone was banned.

They do. That's what they did to me. And all I really did was state my disagreement with the new rule.
How can they actually ban your steam account anyway? Isn't the comment system by Disquis?
Oh right I see what you mean, yeah I think its pretty stupid not being allowed to give criticism on garrysmod.org.. Surely thats the whole point of comments? Who actually cares if someone says "I downloaded this? I think this is great?"

Yeah, but you have to do some linking gig with your Steam account in order to log into Garrysmod.org.

Yeah, I figured the comments were there to provide constructive feedback; not shower the uploader in compliments regarding how thoughtfully they positioned all the Combine soldiers guarding Dr. Breen, or how shiny the PHX tile on which some wheels were mounted looks.

You are very correct, this is rediculous. Internet doesn't exactly have to abide by US rights, but there is a certain unspoken standard of freedom that exists EVERYWHERE else out of simply being humane.

Nay- thing is on Garrysmod.org, you have to link your account there to your Steam account, so if they block your gmod.org account, it also applies to your Steam.

This is nonsense. I know that you shouldn't go saying "O ROFL U SUCK N00B", but it looks like this rule will result in the post of "Well, it doesn't have a very high quality material on it" getting someone banned.
