Hello, I have gotten new labtop, and I have installed css and gmod. When I launch gmod I get the preparing to launch like normal then it just goes away. Nothing happens or comes up :( Off of steam I have ran the cputest and my processer meets the requirements. My labtop came with XP but I instaleld vista on it.
I hate to do this but.... Bump.
I now have Windows 7 and I still get this issue. I have searched and searched and got nothing. I tried.... -autoconfig -fullscreen -window -dxlevel ~ Anything else?
Try putting one of these combinations into launch options:
-window -dxlevel 90

-fullscreen
[editline]01:35PM[/editline] Try putting one of these combinations into launch options:
-window -dxlevel 90

-fullscreen
Hey im having this exact problem. Iv never had this problem before. I just reinstalled Garrys mod and I cant get it started. I tried doing what was suggested up above didnt work. What should I do? And the Fullscreen thing is not working
GMod is trying to launch at a resolution that is too low, most likely. Click on Start, then Run..., type in "regedit" (without quotes), and hit OK. Registry Editor should open. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Source\garrysmod\Settings. You should see what appear to be console commands the right. Find ScreenHeight and ScreenWidth and set them to your monitor's native resolution.
I fixed it by deleting gmod directory
