• Garry's Mod Problem- No HUD - Please help!

I'm using Gmod version 11 on Steam. It is fully updated. Whenever I start Gmod, in the main menu where you chose between single player and multi-player there is the picture of the guy with the cone on his head. However the text that is there is all glitchy and is outlined by black. Then, in-game I have no HUD. Meaning, I cannot see my health, ammo, or what weapon I'm using... If anyone else has had this problem and fixed it please tell me. Thanks
Try changing the name of your Gmod folder inside Steam/steamapps/your user name/ Start Gmod again. Steam will now create a new Gmod folder without addons or anything since it can't find the old Gmod folder. If this fixes it, that means one or many of your addons were messing with the game (then you must re-download your addons. Don't copy them from the old version as they may be infected with lua viruses) If this does not fix it, you need to update your drivers (then you can change the name back and delete the new Gmod folder).
Thanks for the info dude I'll try that...
Or you could try entering cl_drawhud1 in console.

i have the same problems with my Garry's Mod! those photobucket images are EXACTLY what i get when i play. its sad, really because gmod is one of a kind and i love it. However idk what to do about the problem that restricts us both from experiencing the other half of Garry's mod...
I had these problems on my XP and I never got it fixed, so I'm guessing that you're fucked and you need to buy a new computer.
what ^ he said, although a new computer would help. try tuning down your gmod, and monitor settings like ALL the way down. that might help then configure it wile your in gmod, and see if that happens again. yes i have xp, i have 2 gigs of ram so does my dad my computer is like 6 years old now XD. i can run gmod, and fallout3 fine ok uh if it happened again do this put the settings back to where they were, and then get out of gmod, mess with almost every thing EXCEPT contrast and brightness.

Try searching for an update.
i got this when i fixed an error (crash or bluescreen when i kill an npc) but now i cant aim. :(. i just need to see the reticle really.
