First of all thanks for reading my post, whenever i start gmod the steam thing comes up and says launching gmod then right after it goes away i get a windows error saying hl2.exe has stopped working. I run windows 7 on a pc that should have no problems playing gmod my specs are:
4gigs ram
intel Q6600
Ati 5870 video card
I googled around and tried other posts on the forums but none of the solutions I found helped, I cant reinstall Gmod due to bandwidth issues, I checked the integrity of the cache, I tried putting -dxlevel 80/90 and -fullscreen in the properties and thats all i found so far.. help appreciated thanks!

Still not working.... I been trying to get this game to work for a while now.
Did it ever work? If so, when was this?
umm yea it worked a while ago when i use to play it and I had a 4870X2 video card instead of my newer one.
