How hard is it to make your own dedicated server?

Ive always wanted to have my own Garrys Mod server. I would probably make a "The Purge" Server.
But I dont have much knowledge on how to do this. So my question is, how hard is it to make a garrys mod server. Oh and whats a good server host?

Not too hard once you learn the basic concept of materials for images, sounds for sounds, models for models, addon a kinda mimic the garrysmod/ directory with a lua folder and models, etc. add me on steam and I can teach you the ropes.
