Hello, I have Googled countless times and have never seemed to find quite an answer to my question, so I decided to try here and ask myself.
Is there any way to make an actual mission in Gmod? Perhaps a third party program or through LUA scripting? I was just wandering if that's possible at all. I don't mean making saves and just killing people, I mean where you actually script or set up waypoints or paths for AI and commands for them. For example Half-Life 2, I'm not going to try and recreate something as brilliant as that, but as an example, that's what I'm talking about; Where AI walk around or run and move if you complete an objective or something.
I have for a long period of time played ArmA and ArmA 2, so if you have ever played them and messed around in their built in editor that is exactly what I'm talking about.
Thanks very much for any information at all.
Other than mapping with hammer, no.
Other than mapping with hammer, no.
So I CAN do this in hammer then or only make maps, because previously I only thought that hammer was for map making.
AI and objectives are a part of the map.
Anyways, you can do this with Lua. It's not easy, but it can be done.
It is alot harder to do with lua and you would need the map anyways plus making it map specific, going in game abunch to find vectors and everthing and then putting them into the script and making sure the map has graph nodes exactly on those vectors to allow the npcs to move through there smoothly. Its alot easier to just map it all.
Arma 2 is nothing like hammer, I advise giving up because its not easy to make maps in hammer. Oh and PS googling "How to make maps in garrys mod" comes up with tons of hammer and source SDK links.
Well then either I'm somehow really good at mapping or you're really bad cuz mapping is really easy if you go to youtube.com
