• How do I reset the Garry's Mod Display settings without actually launching the game?

When I was playing the game at one time I thought that the game was lagging a little bit, so I made a huge mistake by lowering the display settings down to 720(I believe) to try to make the game run smoother. Unfortunatly, this did not work and now Garrys mod is no longer viewable at all. When ever I launch the game, my moniter displays a black screen with the phrase "Out of range" on it, so theres no way to navigate what is going on in the game or even the main menu. How can I reset to default the display settings without having to reinstall the game? Thank you so much in advance.
I'm assuming your talking about resolution and you have taken it down to a resolution not supported by your monitor. To fix this simply, While in Steam, select Garrys Mod, then right click “Properties”. Then click on “Set Launch Options“… Insert the following into the box. (Excluding the "") "-w 1024 -h 768" The numbers are just a standard resolution, if they don't work, find out the native resolution of your monitor and replace my numbers with yours. Then just hit ok, then launch the game. EDIT: Herb's solution below seems probably easier so I would suggest doing that.
Launch options. "-autoconfig" The game won't load up your settings, so everything goes to default based on your hardware. Change your settings to how you want, then remove it before the next time you launch the game.
