Garrys mod doesnt show servers in servers list and cant connect to any server!

Pretty much explains everything in the title. Garrys mod wont connect to any servers nor will it show any in the list. i had a friend in my server and when i tryed to join he said it said i connect. but on my screen it just sits on connecting to server then eventually disconnects after 4 retrys. I can also see servers and connect to servers in any other game but garrys mod. Can someone help?

You might want to get rid of your username in that log over there.
Ontopic: Try deleting your garrysmod folder, and relaunch Garry's Mod.
nope didnt work. just to let everyone know ive already reinstalled gmod a couple times. im not really wanting to reinstall steam but if some people think i should i might as well.
I wonder if it might be because of your internet connection. In our SMALL town, all of our "wired" internet actually gets routed to a satellite and transferred from there, and there's a limit on our upload speed (unless we pay extra for the added bandwidth). Companies like to say you're getting this great 1.5Mbps connection, but an upload speed of .52 or less is hardly a gaming connection. Speedtest.net is a good place to find out yours, if you don't know for certain.
Also, look into "Port Forwarding", takes a little bit to figure out (there are tuts), but it might make a difference for you where it didn't for me.
Finally, if you can get the IP address of the server you are trying to connect to, you can go into your console (Select "Enable Console" in your advanced options in the keyboard setup menu, opened by using the ~ key) and type "connect 12.345.67.890:27015" replacing the numbers with the servers IP (no quotes, of course), and it will try to connect, even if he isn't showing up in your list of servers (I've had the same problem with the 4 tries and it quits. This trick doesn't always work, but it sometimes will work on the same server where 30 minutes before it didn't. Completely a hit and miss for me, but it's worked about 75% of the time)
Thanks for the help everyone but i have figured out the problem. it was my firewall not being configured right... Post can be close if necessary.
