[release]Star Wars: Sagas is a Garrys Mod RPG server/gamemode that takes place just after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The newly created Galactic Empire is making their presence known across the galaxy, while the newborn rebellion has begun to fight back against this oppression. Too many RPG's in Garry's Mod are either Medieval or Half-Life themed. While nothing is wrong with that, it leaves nothing for the Sci-Fi fans! Star Wars Sagas is a true Garry's Mod "MMORPG" experience like none other. The gamemode was started in March of 2010 and the servers first went live a month later, in April 2010. The game is only hosted off of these official servers, and they are updated weekly with new features, bug and optimization fixes, and new content. The community is truly one of a kind. There are over 4,000 player accounts on file as of 2011, with players spanning literally all over the world. The game is hosted in the United States, so while international players are encouraged to play, just know that you'll probably experience latency. Without further ado, check out the features...[/release][release]

Sandbox style gameplay spanning across 6 linked servers (zones).
Hundreds of items, from armor and weapons, to food and pharmaceuticals, to furniture!
An extensive crafting system, allowing players to use resources that they gather to create wearable equipment, medical supplies, tools, placeable furniture, and much more.
8 non-combat Professions: Mining, Organic Chemistry, Foraging, Architecture, Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, Entertainer, and Culinary Arts.
15 combat professions, featuring a skill-tree system allowing for literally thousands of unique and deadly skill combinations based on YOUR playstyle.
Combat and non-combat usable abilities and buffs, quickly usable and accessible from your toolbar.
A player-vs-Player system revolving around two factions: The Galactic Empire, and the newly formed Rebellion. PvP combat and the joining of a faction is completely by choice (flagging system), and players are not locked to a single faction.
An in-depth attributes system, featuring 3 pools: Health, Action, and Mind, as well as several sub-stats with various effects.
Character customization options.
Completely customized world, created by our team of talented mappers to truly immerse you into the galaxy of Star Wars.
An ambient music system that periodically plays authentic music from the Star Wars universe.
A bank system, allowing you to store your hard earned credits and supplies to keep them safe.
The Galactic Bazaar, a place allowing players to buy and sell goods to/from other players, even while offline.
Player Owned Housing; purchase a house and furnish it with furniture items crafted by player Architects, some of them being usable/functional. Houses cost an amount of credits in maintenence fees in order to own, encouraging active players to remain active, and freeing up house lots for new players.
Player-formed Squads, allowing players to group up and share mission-credit for kills, as well as earn bonus experience for working together.
Live events coming very soon; everything from PvE to PvP to purely social server events for players to get involved in!
[/release][release]Star Wars: Sagas requires probably one of the largest content packs you've ever seen for a Garry's Mod Server. Then again, it is a game in and of itself. We have an SVN host for all of the content, allowing you to easily download and update your content. Instructions can be found on the official site here. For those of you that know what you're doing already, below is the SVN checkout URL: https://swsagascontent.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/swsagascontent While you can technically join the servers and play without having to download anything but the maps, pretty much everything will be errors and you'll be missing out on the true Star Wars: Sagas experience. Once you've got the content pack installed, click HERE to be taken to Mos Mesric, Tatooine, to start your saga![/release][release]Video Images [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/1.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/2.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/3.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/4.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/5.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/6.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/7.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/8.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/9.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/10.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/11.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/12.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/13.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/14.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/15.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac334/DilithiumSentinels/Star%20Wars%20Sagas/Website%20Screenshots/16.jpg[/img_thumb][/release][release]Check out the official website here! Well thanks for the burger brother! It's a pretty good time to be had, hope to see you on some time!

I cant seem to get it to work for some reason [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] Nevermind.
Sounds fun. If I knew anything of Star Wars past the basic stuff, I would totally play. :P
So basically Star Wars: Gagaxies: Underdone edition. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] Community seems dead IMO.
So basically Star Wars: Gagaxies: Underdone edition. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] Community seems dead IMO.
The community isn't dead. But it could always use some new blood; that's why I finally created a server thread after a year of not having one. Thanks for the encouraging comments everyone!
HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT. THIS IS EPIC. Totally joining. Gonna DL the shit tomorrow.
Looks nice. I'll be playing tomorrow.
I must say, this really looks awesome. Great work!
Looks sweet.
Servers are functioning properly again; sorry for the delay in addressing the issue!
Cool
Update 2.2.3 is LIVE with some awesome new features! ** You will need to update your SVN to play and see these changes ** - The new Mos Mesric is officially here! Check it out for a much larger and grander Star Wars feel all around (not to mention the city is huge and filled with neat features). Also note that player housing has once again moved into the city, eliminating the need for a separate housing map. - Changed the UI color scheme to be unique. - Some NPC's will now wander around instead of remaining in place. - All weapons now have proper blaster bolt effects of different colors. - Replaced several NPC models with working newer versions, courtesy of Ryan7259. - New Wookiee player model, courtesy of Ryan7259. - E-11 Carbines have had their damage balanced and tweaked a bit. - Tusken Raiders now properly carry their Cycler rifles. - Thugs, Clone Troopers, and other NPC's now properly carry their E-11 Carbines again. - Added a brand new custom Nalargon model for entertainers.
Good thing to see that you made a new thread about this. Seems really promising, I'll hop on when I see some players on there.
nice :-) i gotta join one of these in 2010 i thought this was down but now i join :D
I am downloading from the SVN at the moment, if anyone a cares to join me, jump on. Or Add me on steam. [editline]12th April 2011[/editline] If this is good (I hope) I will be trying to spread the word off this game mode to my friends.

[editline]12th April 2011[/editline] If this is good (I hope) I will be trying to spread the word off this game mode to my friends.
Awesome, well I hope you enjoy it and thanks for giving it a try! The one thing that I cannot stress enough is that if you're PURELY playing to "kill sh*t and level up" then you're going to be bored after the first ~20 combat levels as I can't keep up content-wise with the players who purely log on to do that. I encourage you to try other things as well; there's a bunch of non-combat professions, player owned houses/furniture, crafting, music, etc. It's a game of variety. But I digress! :P
I have played around in this game mode for a while, 9/10! I love the RPG feeling I get when I play this, I love the system with quests, all the skill trees etc. Also one thing I find awesome is that I dont need players to play this. Meaning I do not need to sitt around and wait for players to join so I can start playing like a lot of Gamemodes out there. Needs to get polished a little bit and it will be great, I am wondering WHY isnt this game mode crowded. [editline]12th April 2011[/editline] Definately going to try to get my friends to play, hopefully we might be able to populate the server more.
too bad a lot off my friends are either Hardcore RPers, SpaceBuilders or DarkRP Minges... Ill try to get a few off my friends on, also anyone interested in playing with me?
When my computer arrives I will try to get on to play. I will how ever download the content.
Looks like a great gamemode but why do i always see 5 empty server's? Why not first have one or two server so it will be more populated and more fun and expand if needed.
The servers are all different zones. One server is a "dungeon" type instance, one is a major city with a bunch of ammenities, one is a huge open questing and adventure zone, and then there's another major city on Naboo as well as a player housing community. In the future we'll be consolidating those two Naboo zones into one. If you've played the game you'll quickly realize why there have to be different zones (servers). ;)
I'll definitely try this when I get time.
Okay now i understand :) I had the same idea for a gamemode too.
Yeppers :) It works pretty well too. I've got an in-game "Shuttle" system that allows you to visit the starport of any zone and select a destination you'd like to go to, and it'll automatically load you in to that zone.
Do you host the server's on a dedicated server or rent from a GSP>?
Hi! I just bought Garry's mod recently to join up into the Star Wars Sagas community! However =x due to the recent updates, the server is inaccessible for the moment, so I can't wait till it's back up!
Getting it back up right now. I'm honored you bought Garry's Mod to check it out! :)
