• G-Mod crashing when spawning NPC's/Models

When ever I attempt to spawn an Vortigaunt or the rag-doll version of the model the game crashes, it just freezes and I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out of it. I have had G-Mod on another computer, it is currently installed on my laptop which handles it just fine. A little off topic also when I spawn a Fast Zombie Torso, I just get the giant ERROR I have also never had happen before...would this constitute as a situation of uninstall and reinstall...just looking for some answers. Edit: The computer I had it on originally ran it without any issues!
Try having Gmod verify the game cache. Right click on Garry's Mod in your game list and go to Properties. Click the Local Files tab and choose Verify Integrity of Game Cache. It'll take a moment, but that should make sure that everything that's needed is where it's supposed to be. Do the same thing for Half Life 2 if it doesn't work with just Gmod, as I'm not sure how much of HL2s files are included with Gmod and how much it actually needs to take from the game. If you're having an error spawning a default HL2 ragdoll/prop, then that might be where the problem is.
Alright, made that attempt it did not make a difference for either one....any other ideas?
Well, something a little more drastic, save any addons you can't live without somewhere else on your computer and delete all your local content and .gcf files for garrysmod and HL2 and have steam re-download/install everything. Make sure you fire up HL2 at least once before firing up Gmod. Oh and leave any addons you have out until you're sure it's working.
Verify the integrity of your Half-Life 2: Episode 2 files (That's where the fast zombie torso is in).
Alright got the problem solved, what I did is went into steam and had the game defrag and than had it reverify the cache and attempt to spawn the npc....it froze for a second and then spawned it....
