Apparently you can do that. And I read that adfoc.us is a way to do it. But I'm not sure how to integrate that into my server. I read someone used it on their loading screen. But how? How could I put it on my motd? Is there a different way other than adfoc to raise money through ads?

Can't afford your server? Don't host it, it makes no difference. But don't promote a standard for something that nobody really wants. People have paid for the game to play it, not to watch fucking adverts.

i can partially agree. if you dont have the money to pay for a server then dont host a server. it pisses me off that 90% of gmod servers lock almost EVERYTHING behind a fucking donator rank these days. i dont want your shitty donator skins or more points for your useless pointshop. people are trying to make hosting gmod servers a business and putting shit in donator/vip ranks because if they wont then "nobody will donate to my server", who the fuck cares if they donate or not! if they like your server enough they will donate regardless of your shitty ranks/skins

I do remember a thread about pinion or whatever the fuck it was called, where many people did indeed say if a server had it, it was being blacklisted.
You would use Pinion but before you do that disable adblock and go on YouTube for a few hours. Then ask yourself, do I REALLY think Pinion is a good idea?

Seeing ads on a server would most certainly make me nope right the fuck out of there before I got a chance to spawn in. Would also make me never recommend people play on it if I were asked.
Due to me being naive I can tell you that this is a [B]BAD[/B] idea. You'd lose players and you'd make so little it's not even worth it.
You'll be better off having donations for VIP or something. Ads are really stupid.
Remember that one thread where the guy had pinion on his server and was asking for a way so admins didn't have to see it lmao
The only way I'd ever support advertising like this is if you did something that made the ad window 1 pixel by 1 pixel and muted the sound for the local player.

I remember a TTT server had pinion that showed up for you every time you died and you couldn't close it for 30 seconds. Instantly left the server and blacklisted it.
You could force people that are getting banned or kick to watch a ad or two or three before they get banned/kicked.
