• Best Administration Mod?

I see all of the Admin mods are outdated by a long time. What's the current best one/most popular one/most updated? (For GMod 14.)
Check this out http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1390916 I've never yet to actually put this on a server, but it looks really nice.
Here's a list of admin mods that I know of currently. Take your pick and decide which one is the best for you. I'll try this, in the mean time, I'm still wide open to suggestions. [editline]8th August 2014[/editline]
Here's a list of admin mods that I know of currently. Exsto and Moderator are two of my favorite. I don't know about the others, but Exsto is built in with MySQL support, which is one of my favorite parts about it.
What's the most customizable? That's my true concern (as long as it supports GMod 14). [editline]8th August 2014[/editline]
Exsto and Moderator are two of my favorite. Exsto is extremely customization.
Exsto is extremely customization.
More so than Evolve, ULX, Moderator, and ServerBase?
Haven't used the other ones, I'm only letting you know from my experience with Exsto.
Can anyone claim the most customizable one? That's still actively updated (or at least is still working)?
Try them out yourself, don't let others decide which one you should use. Sure, opinions are nice, but you'll only really be satisfied with the one you choose.
moderator is a nice one. And btw, it's GMod 13, not 14.
Hated exsto, little customization. ULX was okay. Evolve is excellent so far! Just trying to figure out motd.
Hated exsto, little customization. ULX was okay. Evolve is excellent so far! Just trying to figure out motd.
Really? I guess it's just a personal preference then. ULX is a mess, don't use it.
Yeah ULX sucks in my opinion. Moderator just seems good because there are no "fun" commands, it's straight moderating.
Which is what true administration should be.

Exsto is better if you can code, it's also discontinued. If you can't code I would recommend ULX, it comes with a bit of bloatware but overall I haven't seen much wrong with it.
Evolve seems like a good mod to me, moderator is also a good administration system with build-in report system but it has some small flaws but will get fixed sometime.
My admin mod :^)
Disclaimer: I work on ULX. :P ULX has been around the longest (getting close to 9 years now), and is still in active development by the original authors. Our current code base is getting a bit old and needs some care, but it should still function fine. We have our own forums with fairly responsive help and support and plenty of releases from the community. I'd argue that ULX has the most advanced group management, command inheritance, player/group targeting, and command argument restriction systems, although it can take some time to learn. We also do have quite a few commands built-in, but, you can just remove access to the ones you don't want. You could *theoretically* delete the modules listed in ulx\lua\ulx\modules if want them removed entirely, but I haven't tested that for a long time.
I would say that Chessnut's is better, as others have stated it is straight forward. You could also pay someone to code you a custom administration mod, the custom ones I've seen are usually better
Moderator was released premature and is still pretty buggy.
People dislike ULX, but in my opinion it's the easiest one to set up and the addons and plugins are handy. Most of it you can do ingame.
I'm still awaiting the release of TWERK from the owner of BIG BOOTY BITCHES
Which is what true administration should be.
B-B-But sometimes I want to mess around and !rocket everything while acting like a mentally insane person with my friends. :(

I don't know why ulx is getting so much hate lately, it is by far the best maintained addon. I've worked with ulx, exsto and evolve when adding support to scripts of mine. ULib/UCL is the ONLY admin mod with proper ACL (command inheritance etc) and also has by far the best developer interface. It is also one of the best gmod addons when it comes to code quality and documentation. This is from a developer perspective. From the server owner perspective it makes sense because you can be sure that it will be supported pretty much forever. It is the most widely used admin addon (at least by users of my script on ch) so you can be very sure that somebody WILL fix it when it breaks. From my experience it is also rock solid, never had a single problem with it in 5 years. The only real downside to it is the gui, it just doesn't look as pretty as some of the other admin mod's guis although it still very functional. I posted this in another thread, but this is a ULX plugin and this is Evolve. Maybe it's bias speaking, but I really don't get how you could say that the ULX plugin looks more tidy than Evolve's method. I just feel the entire format is just so much cleaner and easier to read with Evolve. Like, I recently tried to put together some commands for ULX because while I don't like it, I also understand that it's popular. Evolve commands I was able to put together in a few minutes, but I'm really struggling with getting the ULX ones to work, it's just so awkward. I also wasn't able to find any documentation on making them, but maybe that's just me.
ULX/ULIB Documentation
NiandraLades is partially correct- YourStalker linked to the ULib (only) documentation, which is very well documented as it is designed to be a helpful set of libraries for developers. Unfortunately, we never got that kind of documentation set up with ULX (or me with XGUI), so we are lacking in that regard. As far as I can tell, the best information is found just by searching our forums or using our existing commands/modules as templates. We will answer your questions on our forums, of course, or feel free to PM me directly! In regards to code cleanliness- It really is opinion. To me, both the Evolve and ULX example look about the same, with a few minor differences regarding how permissions are handled, how arguments are passed (ULib requires defining argument types for validation and restrictions later), and how/what additional information about the plugin is specified.
