• Odd Problem with Starting Up Garry's Mod

Hey all, I just downloaded the new update for GMOD, but now I'm having a strange issue when I try to run the game. I get a dialogue box with the following error message: "Unable to load users/****/library/application support/steam/steamapps/****/garrysmod/bin/filesystem_steam.dylib" As you can probably tell from the directory structure, I'm using a Mac. It's a macbook pro running OS 10.5.8. There have been some problems with steam and that build, but this is a new thing for me. I checked the relevant folders, and the file does exist. Any advice?
The exact same thing happened to me. Before that however, it would just say "preparing to launch game" then the message would go away, and then nothing. So something must be going right. I have a mac too.
Yep same with me. I have a Mac pro OS X. I used to have preparing to launch game message then it would disappear after a few seconds then nothing would happen. Now Im getting that filesystem_steam.dylib error. Kinda happy to see something happening. Pretty sure it will be fixed soon.
Yep me too, I have a regular iMac OS X 10.5.8 and am getting the "filesystem_steam.dylib" unable to load error. I'm happy that it's actually giving me an error now and not just disappearing in one second like it was before.
:O I love you all we should all play Garry's Mod together sometime because I relate to all of you. Mac, OS X 10.5.8 But to be serious now, I am ALSO having the same problem. We are diagnosed with a huge engine problem with our source games and of course Garry's Mod. Valve needs to start working and fix this, along with Garry Newman.
I am having this exact same problem as well.

Same problem, same symptoms, same OS. Whats the cause this time? Source Engine update? Garry's mod update?
