I having this problem in Resistance and Liberation. It seem it's another engine bug.

Steam likes to suddenly not care at all about getting a list of servers. a temporary workaround is to ask for an IP of the server you wish to join, and then typing in the console [i]connect i[/i][I]p:port[/I], or using services like game-monitor.
