Hi, this is Matt from GTXGaming, i thought i would give all the haters a one stop shop to ask me questions about my host.
We always try to do our best as any company would. If for some people we haven't lived up to your expectations then i do apologies, but we always try to treat customers with respect. Some of the flaming on here is extremely unjust.
We are not an evil company.. we give £50 (sometimes more) to a different charity every month, we are a small company but we still feel its our duty to help out where we can. We arrange fun runs, pool marathons and attend many benefit events in the Kent area.
Some of the charities we have donated to:
The Cancer Trust
Stepping Stones Nigeria
Children In Need
UNICEF
and many more..
If you have any questions im happy to do my best to answer them.
Kindest regards.
Just because you give money to charity every month doesn't make you an awesome company.
I didn't say it did, was merely pointing out that we're not as evil as we are made out to be on here.
We provide a service and do our best to support that service. Ticket replies tend to be very good during the day and evening.
Thanks for the reply
I thought there already was a thread advertising this. Hell, I'm not even sure this thread is in the right section.

Sorry, was "merely pointing out" that 80% of your post is all about you being a nice person rather than you explaining how your company isn't half as bad as what disappointed customers tend to describe.

Indeed it should go there : http://www.facepunch.com/forums/193-Server-Hosting
Welll actually the feedback is mostly good from what i hear.
Im not sure what i have to explain exactly, our network is great, pings are low, uptime is 99% SLA as all companies are. the 1% accounts for server reboots at 5am every 4 days.
Thanks for the reply.
Plus, we are not haters, mayby is because people had bad experiences with your company, not to mention the way you handle some tickets.
Well the way we have handled some tickets is not 100% i admit, but we are human beings. We have a relaxed attitude to our customers, and most customers seem to enjoy that. If you want to talk to a robot call 123 the talking clock :)
Well I certainly wouldn't reccomend this host, I've had bad experiences from them. Tickets can take 3 days for replies and the Free web hosting and free mumble is fake advertismenet, you don't actually get that. The dedicated server I also had was getting constant problems.

You should act like a professional host service, not like "hey bro ill fix ur server in 1 min".
And the only customers enjoying your "relaxed attitude" are kids.
Welcome to the chat tostopagaben.
You do get free mumble and web hosting but you do have to ask for it thats all we ask. So open a ticket and ask can i have my webhosting, you see you cant set web hosting up unless you have a domain to set it up on. ie www.domain.com.
As for 3 days replies to tickets, thats ridiculous, we reply within 30 minutes, and once your ticket is replied to you get very fast replies thereafter.

You should tell people when they order they need to ask, and from personal experience It did take 3 days to get a response. I also remember the day the new Teamspeak 3 update was released and it took you a day to update it. Nobody could connect to the server
Well teamspeak is in beta as we always say, and when there is an update it has to be done post midnight and warning sent via email, as any users that are using their servers for scrims or wars (that havent upgraded their client yet) would be disconnected and they would be very mad.
So every update is done after midnight, this is standard procedure for most GSP's i have spoken with.

So you are telling me you'd rather wait till midnight to update the teamspeak servers nobody can connect to? I'm sure people will be wanting to use them.
But tostopagaben it was only you that couldnt connect in that instance. Teamspeak client is backwards compatible. I myself have 3 versions old and can still connect to any Beta server, you can check it yourself if you dont believe me.
It was possibly a problem with that certain Beta2*>beta2*
But ever since i have had no reports of users unable to connect to an outdated server. And lets face it teamspeak normally release their updates at 3pm UK time, so it was only 9 hours to wait.
Let me remind you teamspeak is in BETA. Its not a final and therefore it may not work correctly 100% of the time.

It's pretty standard to update at midnight - it minimizes the chances of people who are using the service being kicked off for updates.

But anyway i apologise for that, and we cant please 100% of the customers in that particular situation.

Yes it is now backwards compatible but that update that happened wasn't. That ticket certainly wasn't a 30 minute reply, The TeamSpeak update was released earlier because It was in the morning that nobody could connect. TeamSpeak is in beta but all it needed was a 30 second update. Anyway that's enough from me, I shall not be buying from GTXGaming again but wish you good luck and hope you can improve your services better for the future.

Nobody could connect anyway so there would be nobody getting kicked off.
How are Teamspeak updates done? Did the update in question require a manual install or is some form of version control (ie svn, git) used?
If you want people to respect you you have to admit your wrong and that you're going to do something about it.
I brought up an issue, then you just call me a troll, lie about me harassing your staff and make me look like the bad guy.
How are Teamspeak updates done? Did the update in question require a manual install or is some form of version control (ie svn, git) used?
Hi its a simple case of,
1. stop the teamspeak service
2. download the latest build.
3. backup teamspeak server files incase of failure.
4. copy new beta files on top of the old files.
5. start server.

You know you have come on before and tried to wind us up. We know straight away if you have come on live chat before, and we can pull up your archived chats right away. I give you the respect of hearing you out but i knew it was most likely a wind up, which was correct. you were just taking screenshots.
You have a history of this with this sort of thing and i knew that right away. Im not saying your a bad person, im sure you are doing this for the best intentions of the community.

Im not necessarily begging for respect here, i just want a bit of understanding. Running a business like this is difficult and long hours, my poor girlfriend gets no time alone, we havent been on holiday for three years. We do our best. Thats all i want people to realise.
[editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
right im going to be a bit quiet from now on as have lots of work to do, the clients will be getting home from work and uni etc, and will be expecting fast responses. Most of the tickets are evening work which is a bit of a crock in my social life, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
I'm wondering what would your response/explanation be to this, at the end of the conversation it just gets horrible.

And this:
GTX Gaming sucks. That's all.
I first posted the ticket on facepunch, which was soon spread to other sites (4chan etc) and the owner of GTXGaming found my phone number and called me, begging me to take down the thread as he was getting a lot of hatemail because of it. He "blackmailed" me into staying quiet, by offering me a supposedly free server forever. That wasn't the case, the server expired a few months ago, and the owner of GTX said the server was only free for a little while. This isn't what he said on the phone to me. My support account and all evidence of the tickets has since been deleted manually by either matt or jason.
And also this whole post:
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1097582-GTXGaming
well yes that ticket was handled badly, but Jason no longer works for us and we have learnt from it.
Thats all you can do is learn from your mistakes people. We are not infallible.

We did call the customer concerned and as compensation we offered them a free 6 months server, which they got in full.
I have learnt to embrace criticism and try to improve things rather than sweep it under the carpet. We are a very successful provider and soon we will have a EA ranked licence. We have made great strides forward in the past 12 months.
Hopefully the doubters will become believers.

This is none of your business, I don't know why you are acting like a 5 year old in all these gtx gaming threads. All the evidence about this host is there you don't have to keep trying to defend it.

It's not our responsibility to give evidence of claims, it's the host's responsibility to give evidence that the claims aren't true.
