Servers sub-forum? - Garry's Mod

Hello, so, now since all the server threads are apparently being closed, why not have a Servers subforum again? It would mean that people can still advertise their servers, but not intrude on the forums of people who aren't interested, while providing a good resource for people looking for a server.

If a severs subforum gets created and a contraptions subforum isn't, I'm leaving. [editline]19th August 2011[/editline] Also, I like how this only becomes a pressing issue for you once your thread gets closed.

In fact, I agreed to the close, it was starting to be a total flamefest and the server was dying anyway.

It was murdered and now only decent adverts can be in this forum instead

Threads that didn't have any trolling or flaming in them, had effort put into them and were generally good, descriptive advertisements.

Well then, make a contraption thread.

There is one, for WIPs and the like. Also if you didn't notice, most contraptions that are posted are floating in a sea of shitty threads that ask riveting questions such as "How do I become a GMOD Administrator" and "I Search DarkRP 2.4.2". Before the change, I swear GMD was for random crappy topics and a honeypot for people who weren't paying attention. Now GMD is for random crappy topics, a honeypot for people who aren't paying attention, gamemode discussion, server discussion (though that has apparently changed), and contraptions. All the good information you hope to get out of the section is rendered moot by the amount of pure shit that's posted.

Ugh... I still feel like building an independent forum is the way to go

What's stopping us from reverting both contraptions AND servers? In fact, why were they removed in the first place if we tolerate them, yet still place rules against them?

Server Discussion wasn't exactly full of server discussion, and contraptions was apparently dominated by a bunch of elitists who would shun newer players. I can understand the sentiment for both, they didn't see much traffic in general, but we lost a lot of good threads and good material in the shift.

Hell no, if garry added a new sub-forum it should be Contraptions Or actually he could create both.

I personally think that the servers was the most useful of all, not only did I advertise my own servers in there, but I also found some good servers to play on, as well. I only join servers if I know who they are and what they sand for.
