• How much RAM would I need for a VPS?

Hello, So I was thinking about getting my own VPS and running about 3-5 servers on it, with slots 10-20. Just how much RAM would I need in total? Please get back with some USEFUL information. Thanks - Scaly
Depends on what each server is used for but usually 25mb per slot is a good starting place. Your biggest issue will be CPU usage.
I was thinking a DarkRP Server, BHop and Deathrun for the time being.
Could run lower tickrates on those types of servers and that will help with CPU usage. Best bet would be start out with a 2GB plan and then move up if needed. That is one thing nice about VPS servers, you can scale as needed. Also look into setting you rates properly.
What OS would you recommend? I have never used Linux before.
CentOS is popular for srcds. I use Ubuntu. Make sure it is either 32bit or you install the correct packages if you have 64bit.
You're pretty much never going to see srcds use more than 768mb of memory.

Depends on what you're running.
What are you basing this figure on? [editline]30th October 2015[/editline]
Just a rough number based on a vanilla server. Depends on content on server.
I have roughly 20 DarkRP Addons with TDM Cars and M9K, and I was thinking 32 slots or 80.
Hmm, idk about the inner workings of TDM Cars, but M9K Should be fine. 20 DarkRP addons; I'm guessing at least one of those might demand a bit more resources, especially if you decide to go with the higher side of your player slots. You can kind of reduce the strain by lowering your tickrate to something like 16 or 33, which is perfectly acceptable for a roleplay gamemode.
