REVIEW - Questionable ethics TTT avoid at all costs!!

Hi guys so me and some friends were playing on the questionable ethics TTT server and here are my overall impressions on it.

As we entered the server and started to play we all noticed that a younger player was being bullied because of his voice, this is obviously going to happen on some gmod servers but the thing is it was coming from an admin. This is bad behaviour coming from a staff member of a server who are looking out to protect the server from harm but are instead insulting the players.

The report system on the server is flawed in which the staff seem inept to actually read the reports, If the person who has submitted the report has marked "do not forgive" after the response even when a valid explanation is given the admin will not ask and simply slay you, this is an opportunity for players to abuse the system and get other people who they don't like slain. On many occasions we also noticed that I was sometimes being slain for RDM even though I did not RDM because of this, for example I was an innocent and a traitor shot at me with a rifle but missed and hit the wall, I then proceeded to shoot him and was proven innocent by the other players, The traitor reported me for killing without evidence I responded he then marked it "do not forgive" and I was slain next round, I tried to speak to an admin and they simply responded "tough".

The staff also have very abusive language towards players including sexism homophobia and racist talk when they are supposed to be setting a role for the players to follow this is not good.

Another smashing point is that they have many "donator" features on the server [url]http://steamcommunity.com/groups/QuestionableEthicsTTT/discussions/0/523890681411793173/[/url] If you read here it allows donators to have considerable power over the normal player on the server giving the chance for abuse to take place. I saw some donators on the server abusing while I was playing which is not good behaviour and I don't think that such powers should be given out because of money but instead

I then later tried to go on the server and found me and some others were banned for "hacking".We thought this must be a mistake so an application their steam group for an unban was made. None of us did not expect what was to come next.

I was ridiculued by both players and staff of the server I then got my friends and people who know me to help back me up but this was to no avail they still did not believe me, I am still waiting for the "evidence" of hacking as I think that I was reported for having good aim with the sniper and lagging (sometimes the ping spiked up to 700 as someone was uploading on the network while playing) so appeared I was "teleporting" or "speedhacking" which I was not. When these accusations were given to me on the server I simply ignored them because they were players but since they knew the staff and were friends they managed to get me banned from the server alongside my friends as well banned permanantly.....

As you can see these are uncalled for comments as I was not impolite or rude in the unban process but then was hurled abuse and insults and the staff turning a blind eye

So here is an overall rating of the server 2/10 because of bad staff attitudes, too many donator powers and getting banned for no reason. Overall avoid at all costs!!!!

I believe one of my friends is staff there; I've seen that report system on many servers and it's a shame how much they rely on one man's word. Most TTT servers these days all seem to be degraded to staff corruption and a "shoot first ask questions later" kind of administrating.

Hi, I'm the guy that banned you, one of the owners. I wasn't aware that more replies had been made on the appeal thread (Thanks Steam).

Let's start from the beginning:
The first day you joined I start getting a pile of steam messages about a speed hacker in the server (That being you) I come on to check it out but by that time you had already left (Or been vote kicked, don't recall) So I decide to check the death scene to see if their claims were true. They weren't. You were just Bhopping and they had no idea about it. So I didn't ban you. Well yet anyway.

Fast forward to the next day one of my staff get invited to a Steam group. Your scripting group ([url]http://steamcommunity.com/groups/darkscriptsv1[/url]). The staff member having been aware of the situation from the night before recognised your name and informed me; saying you were an admin in the group. I then have a browse about the group out of curiousity. Now that bypass thread by one of the admins, kinda caught my eye, I then realised you must have been using this script in the sever the night before. I then banned you, even if you weren't using it (Which I highly doubt as the bhopping was near perfect, so much so that you were being accused of a hacker) at the least I banned you and your friends as a precaution.

Fast forward again to today when you post your unban thread.
I was about to go to bed when I saw it so I didn't go very in-depth with my reply (and used the wrong phrase, hacker group, when I should have said scripting group)
Also getting your friends to "back you up" in the unban process just looks odd, like of course your friends would back you up (and also trying to, I guess, bribe your unban by saying you're a good coder and can make scripts for us?), regardless; what BigBad said was unacceptable, he has been banned from posting to the group for a week.

In regards to the donation system, if they abuse it they lose it. and trust me, if you're complaining about how our donation system is you haven't seen how bad it is on other servers with similar systems (or ones that just let you outright buy staff).
And with the being slain for defending yourself would you mind telling me the staff member who did this? Our staff normally aren't like this and I would like to look into the matter.
Could you also tell me the staff who were being abusive towards the players, again this is completely unacceptable.

Edit: I do find it funny how ServerWatch is known for hating big server men.

Hello thank you or the detailed reply. I was not using a script on your server instead I was just regularly bunnyhopping I am very good at that and sometimes it may appear that I use scripts when I don't. Thank you for banning BigBad I'm glad you understand why his behaviour was innapropriate. Also regarding the script group I did not realise that it's against the rules to invite people to steam groups I will tell my friends this as well as my friends were doing it on the same server too.

I did not get the name of the staff member however if I become unbanned from the server and this occurs again I will report them on the steam group which is what I should have done immediately instead of this. I apologize for the inconvenience caused and did i'm sorry to demean your server in such a way looking back over what I put it seems harsh.

Well unfortunately, that bhopping was so good that I do not believe that you were not using the scipts on my server. You were not banned for inviting a member to your steam group, you were banned for using scripts in the server (also Bhopping isn't allowed here, should have read the rules when you were looking at the steam group so much)and your friends were banned as a precaution.

It's a pretty dumb system. A while back I gave a brief, yet informative reply to a guy who reported me for killing him when he smashed the traitor tester yet the admin decided to slay me anyways then when I got riled and gave him hell for it he accused me of acting like a 'big man', to which I toned it down a little and explained in depth. He said he slayed me because it's easier than having to turn down the accusing player.

As much as serverwatch is an autist I disagree with the practice of banning players 'as a precaution'. It's unfair on people in cases where they're not doing anything wrong. In hindsight, however, I can understand why.

I would agree with your precaution ban if you didn't have a trustworthy system of detecting clientside scripts and blocking them: if I was running a server with no anticheat, Lenny joined, and he had ridiculously good aim and BHopping, I would ban him, too. However, I would trust in your system if you had detection methods.

Anticheat is arse Im afraid, only detects a few things. We mostly rely on staff and a few other things we have to keep an eye out.

Are bunnyhop script banned on your server. Yes I am a respectable member [url]http://steamcommunity.com/groups/darkscriptsv1[/url] have many people in my steam groups and we all work together as a community. Yes I am a good bunnyhopper now I can reach faster than noclip speed. Yes I have got good aim so it doesn't mean I'm using a aimbot....

No I was just wondering anyway I didn't realise there was such a bad impression of bhop probably much like pk and scripts haha I just binded the jump to the scrollwheel and have been practicing for months.

When I administrated/owned a server, my staff did not do anything unless there was proof.
This includes:
Obvious TTT Logs, for e.g guy just randomly killed multiple innos.
Admin witness
When I was on my server, I'd basically be playing in spectate mode because as a TTT admin, you literally lose all playtime. That's an issue with TTT servers, the admins enjoy playing so they don't take the time to check logs. Hence why I got burnt out on it and shut down my server. Too much shit to deal with :)

Yes you did, that was literally the entire point of me unbanning you to prove to me that you weren't using your script on my server.

Edit: and here's a quote from your first reply to me " I was not using a script on your server" You claim to have a modified client.dll file and thats why you didnt "turn it off" so why do you keep changing your story? Actually I don't care, you're banned, you're staying banned.
