So, I'm going to say that I'm probably insane for being bothered by this, I may not be the only one. But it's just... I have a few things to cover, mostly picking up props is my main problem. Like I said before, I wanted to get this off my chest, and HOPEFULLY, this small change could be worked into gmod! Anyway, onto the post.
Holding objects:
Ok, so you know how when you pick up an prop in gmod, the prop will rotate depending on the way you look on the y-axis. I've made some diagrams so that you get what I'm saying so.
If you compare the way you hold props in gmod, to how you hold them normally in Half-Life 2, they are completely different.
Here's how it looks when you pick up a prop in gmod...

But if you look, its the exact same as the gravity gun in Half-Life 2!

But when you hold props in Half-Life 2, they maintain their rotation on in the y-axis.

Why does it do that!? Why can't it be the same as Hl2? It would be nice, because when you try to set something down, it changes its rotation if you look up or down, and you can't set things down properly. In HL2, you can set things down in an orderly manner because the props line up and don't rotate if you look up or down. Which brings me to the next point.
Weight restrictions on props:
Ok so you know how in Half-Life 2, you can pick up the combine turrets for example. Without the gravity gun? Why can't you do the same in gmod. They run on the same engine so why can't they be the same? Like you can pick up a giant wooden crate, but once its a turret thats significantly smaller, you can't pick it up!? Lets take a metal barrel for example, you can pick that up, but you can't pick up a god damn combine turret?! WHAT THE FUCK!?!
Ok, thats all I wanted to say. Hopefully this stuff gets worked into the game. Like I said, I don't know why this irritates me, but it does. Thats all folks!
