If you don't see any german servers (or frankfurt, you can check by ip). Then you shouldn't rent. It's a common problem with the serverbrowser, the ping from frankfurt to norway is not a big deal, but the serverbrowser treats different server locations as like the server location always correlates with the player origin (which is not true).
Okay, but would it work for uk? I will go check right away, thanks for help. [editline]13th July 2016[/editline] Okay, but would it work for uk? I will go check right away, thanks for help. i checked and i saw alot of german servers
I've not had a problem in the past with NFO's Frankfurt location (I'm in the UK).
Just note that SRCDS doesn't use more than one core.
There's a command to make it use more than one core
That's for the client though isn't it?
I would recommend this host. It's your best option for free DDoS protection and unmatched quality.
i checked and i saw alot of german servers
Then it should be no problem to also get users of your region. (For me example, i can't rent a server in France, as there are a lot of German servers, and they will be prioritized for German users over the French servers). Also, like said in the previous posts, it doesn't make sense to rent one with four cores (if you don't plan to have multiple servers or other applications on the VPS). I would recommend two cores.
Honestly crident is one of your best choices its cheap and has good ddos protection.
I've used ovh in the past for a couple of custom game modes and had no issues at all. They're also very cheap.

These threads are filled with people trying to promote theirs or their friend's host. You rarely get anything useful info out of asking for a host in here other than a list of nobody-hosts.

It is legit.
I tell ya what.. Buy a small server from them and test the protection for yourself.. It is legit.
He wasn't saying the protection didn't exist. He was saying 1Gbps protection is worthless since all someone has to do is send a UDP flood and saturate the line.
Well for 10$ they put you on a 100 Gbps protection line... so why complain over 1 Gbps free?
Again hes not complaining about the free protection so much as saying it won't do squat when a single VPS could saturate that line.
Well for 10$ they put you on a 100 Gbps protection line... so why complain over 1 Gbps free?
Ehh, they charged $30 for 20gbps 1 day ago, but maybe they upgraded their hardware - or just changed the text. [editline]15th July 2016[/editline]
Just because a host isn't as known as the next one doesn't mean it's lacking in quality.
Indeed, but getting 20 different hosts thrown in the mix when asking for a good host isn't really useful. It'd be better if a couple of people all had good experience with a specific host or at least could vouch for it.
