Hey everyone,
I'm gonna host a roleplay server, but I need a good hosting service - a forum included would be good, but not necessary. Any ideas?

You can easily purchase a Garry's Mod server at https://www.bisecthosting.com. They also have other things you make like such as Teamspeak servers. It's a cheap and amazing server hoster as well, hope this helps. :)
Have a great day.

MTX servers are pretty good, especialy for beginner who doesnt want to do anything but dragging servr files with filezilla. It also include a free website host for server owners, which is great for loading screens and stuff.

So it's exactly like SerenityServers then.
If you have any experience with Windows Server or Linux I would suggest renting a VPS.
Then you can basicly host whatever you want.
I rent mine from Strato, which is really cheap but dont expect customer support since its next to none.
after some research about low price gmod server hosting i've decided on zap-hosting.com which has the lowest price for 10 slots monthly paid that i could find in the few hours of research i did. it's about 8€/month for 10 slots without FastDL (did that for free using bplaced, works like a charm) or unnecessary crap but with a couple of good features like easy back up creation, easy update function, instant chat support and some more things along that. it's probably not the best service once you have the server running it works like a charm: no hiccups, lags, speed problems; the performance is absolutely awesome for private servers.

Get a vps. Strato has the best price/performance ratio. For just 9 euro's a month, i have 200gb storage, 4gb of ram 2vcores and unlimited bandwith. it's really good. You have 0 limits in everything and full control.

I urge you to stay away from VPS's, quite often the cores are shared - I've come across a few which offer 2 vcores, which were just 2 hyper-threaded cores on the same core - shared. Additionally the CPU's in machines with a lot of cores tend to be weak, not to mention the overhead of the non-container based virtualisation.
Also make sure that the "Terms & Conditions" or "Fair Usage" cover game hosting, otherwise after one attack you may be suspended.
Hopefully you can get one with a Nginx webserver, Mariadb MySQL database, support for dll's (mysqloo, etc). For an optimum configuration.

GMOD Hosts are often worse than that.

I agree, haha. While neither are perfect, I'd opt for the VPS too. But I'd shop around carefully, get trials - run a unixbench (assuming they won't suspend you for monopolising the CPU). And trial your server out on it.
I just can't see 64-players fitting on the vast majority of VPS's, not to mention the other concerns.
