• DarkRP servers where you can actually RP instead of getting constantly raided?

I remember back in the old days that most darkrp servers actually had strict raiding rules. You couldn't raid without a valid reason and you obviously couldn't raid citizens or neutral jobs. Now every server I play on seems to be filled with trigger happy kids who will fill up the thief class and bring a pack of 10 people to come raid you with assault rifles as soon as the server rules allow them to. Me and my friend were RPing a gun store, I was a gun dealer and he was a security guard. Out the back of the store we had a bitcoin miner setup (pretty cool legal alternative to money printers on the server we were playing on) that cost us all of our combined starting cash and an hours worth of income. We were happily RPing our store when a group of thieves came in (who I hadn't even met before), killed both of us and then proceeded to destroy all our bitcoin miners that we'd spent an hour working on. The admins wouldn't do anything because random raiding is apparently perfectly fine, so long as thieves don't raid the same place twice within 5 minutes. Are there any good servers left where bullshit like this isn't encouraged?
There are a few around. Like mine but im not up for advertising very much as its a very active development server, So not much player base and waht it is also but. if you want to check it out and invite friends its DreamRoleplay Keep in mind if you do join there are a quite a few diffrances and such because of two diffrent communitys coliding but it makes out to be some quite fun times if its not too weird for you and your friends. Just Search it up we most go along with all the original darkrp rules so there are no adverts and people can fear rp and such but when the server is active its not a bunch of trigger happy kids as there is a active police force and such that actully keeps criminal acts somewhat down atleast raiding as most people liek to mess with the cops then raid people. plus the robbable bank attaracts that also. but if you search up dreamroleplay and decied to try it out keep a open mind when you join.
I recommend superior servers.
I'm not so sure he'd like our drastically different 10 minute raid cooldown and massive orgs who run around raiding. Sounds like he's looking for the advert raid types with overbearing rules.

Its extremely based off of a roleplay experience, you can fish, mine for ore, traffic human, be a paramedic, when your arrested your seen before a judge who gives your punishment time, a custom jail system and so much more! If you would please check it out here: Connection info: 198.50.242.61:27015

Adverting raid does nothing aside from allow the non-corrupt cop who's going to promptly be driven off the server through consecutive muggings to set them as wanted and give them an excuse to paste their shitty meme faces into an advert for the whole server to see before, during, and after a raid. To answer OP's question, I honestly haven't seen a server you want, and I've seen some shit. I've been on at least 200 different servers that were actually different, from DarkRP to PERP to PERP-similar gamemodes using the name that somehow haven't been DDoSed into oblivion assuming the current GMod drama is still going on. The only server I have found like you described is on HL2RP, and well... It's HL2RP. It's not DarkRP, or a DarkRP spinoff or something that can be loosely compared to DarkRP like PERP or Phase Four, it's not only dying, but hosts it's own set of problems defining what a good HL2RP server is. I have an absurdly long winded post about HL2RP's problems, but now isn't the time to copy-paste it. The point is I honestly don't know what to say.
Its funny how we can reminisce about roleplay servers being better in the past but in reality its always been cancer.
Its funny how we can reminisce about roleplay servers being better in the past but in reality its always been cancer.
It wasn't cancer before pewdiepie played gmod
It wasn't cancer before pewdiepie played gmod
That certainly did help Gmod's population slide towards the "attention-deficit 13-year-old who plays nothing but DarkRP and TTT" demographic.
Perhaps the age demographic changed, but there always has and always will be mingery. It's just that all of the creative mingery has disappeared.
It wasn't cancer before pewdiepie played gmod
Good joke. It's always been cancer, and I have been here since 05' :v:
