Server Hosts - Read this if you're planning on doing a spot of advertising

This forum [B]isn't[/B] for hosts to come along and advertise their services, it's for the discussion of actually hosting Garry's Mod gameservers.

If we allowed every server host under the sun to advertise, it would end up like the middle pages of the FreeAds or something.

Hosts [I]can[/I] reply to threads seeking a gameserver host, but please don't swarm the thread. A simple "Contact me/us on <info> or see the site at [noparse]http://site.com[/noparse] will be fine, if a customer is interested they [I]will[/I] contact you.

Please [B]don't[/B] post an entire thread about your company/services - This forum isn't a free advertising tool.

This must either be free or offered as part of a server hosting package. The chances of people getting ripped off because some overexaggerating fool exceeded their bandwidth is much too high.

I have been moderating against something like this for a while, but it's never been made obvious to everyone until now.

why srcds? wont any of the valve hosting thing work fine? i havent made a server yet but im dying to make one, and for portforwarding, how do you do it?

SRCDS is the standalone executable for hosting Source-based gameservers. Think of it as an industry standard for hosting companies.

The Steam Dedicated Server is the one which comes with steam and uses a gui. Previously it had been known to have stability issues in GMod.
