Why aren't there any "survival" gamemodes that dont have creatures for you to survive?

It occured to me that The gamemodes "stranded" and "spacebuild" are slightly more pointless than other Pointless gamemodes. I mean- For stranded you simply mannage your hunger, thirst and Fatigue bars. You are given the option to kill players but that is Frowned upon and it's a pain to be killed. Unless you organise a war or something you are either managing or being a cunt.
Spacebuild- You can visit other planets, But other planets are shit. Again- Warfare involves pissing of other players because people prefer to make spaceships than use them.
Anyways. I think people would love a... Minecraft sort of gamemode. Where the player has to prepare for nights, Or to move around in dangerous areas (which hold the best resources). The monsters in question would likely be down to the map.
Monsters and animals contain Resources, Like Skin and meat and Teeth and fur scales and glands. Some humanoid monsters might have equipment.
Axes and pickaxes can be used as weapons, But Poor quality ones are likely to break. Fists are a weapon. The player can use a branch or Stone as a weapon and make clubs,Maces, daggers, swords,Arrows, Bows and crossbows. Perhaps even bombs.
The player can make Clothing/Armour. Each with it's own physical protection and elemental protection.
Rocks Which are harder to get to have better ore inside (as opposed to going up in pickaxes)
There is no physgun. The player can carry items and stack them. This is to make floating fortresses harder to make/maintain.
Monsters can Break props if they are weak enough. Cheap Wood is the easiest to gain and build with. But wood burns and is breakable, Unlike stone or concrete or metal.
I can map and texture , If anyone were to make such a gamemode.
Because we already have minecraft.
Also, in stranded, the fun is in surviving. In spacebuild, the fun is in building your ship and making it work.
In stranded there is a certain point where you don't realy progress. You've built everything. You have enough food and a shelter. There is nothing realy left to do, other than be a cunt and fuck people up. (possibly resulting in a kick) There are No threats, No machines to build, Only grinding. There needs to be more threats. More reasons to cooperate. More reasons to be violent and take things from others. .

If you're done, you're done. Go play minecraft.
Making new complicated NPC's is probably not that easy.
I don't think the reason they don't exist isn't because nobody has thought about having them, but because not enough people can make them.
Making NPCs that work properly, efficiently and intelligently in gmod is near impossible.

Efficiently would be the hardest to make out of all of those options, but mobs aren't all that tough to make, if it really is like animals and such. Pathfinding is pretty much the most complex algorithm going on in an NPC at any given time, and if you help yourself with Source's nodes it shouldn't be too expensive.
I suppose people don't need advanced pathfinding or nice AI at all. I mean look at minecraft up to a few recent updates, the AI was fucking terrible.
Say nodes aren't available - then what? Having a multiplayer gamemode contain NPCs is just begging to lag out.
On another note the source engine map size limit makes making any sizable map impossible, which is why I bought minecraft

He said "not easy", not "not possible"
Minecraft and Skyrim are muche easier to access rather than scripting a new one just for GMOD. imo
Just play zombie survival.
Use Underdone; It's an MMORPG for Gmod, just nobody knows about it.

Everyone knows about it
I think you would like the gamemode I'm working on now. I'll release info on it soon. Keep a look out for, Hunting Grounds.
I GOT IT!
We need a.
CAVE MAN GAMEMODE!!
Or a firefight gamemode.
Making SNPC is not really hard actually. If you have proper skill of compiling and coding.
The most problem is, the server. Gmod srcds only supports single core.
What server can hold 80 npcs in big city map with 8 player?
