This addon will allow you to make gmod's difficulty and a few other settings to be similar to HL2's. Features *Change the difficulty to be similar to Half-Life 2's difficulty *Enable or disable Falldamage in a menu *Set the player's speed to be the same as Half-Life 2's speed *Enable ammo limits to stop people from going over the maximum amount of ammo *People can drown in water if you enable it *You can enable an energy bar that makes people slow down after sprinting for a while *Enable or disable the flashlight Console Commands hl2s_difficulty --Changes the difficulty (0-gmod's, 1-HL2's Difficulty, 2-Extra Hard) hl2s_speed --Changes the speed the player moves to be the same as in Half-Life 2 hl2s_ammolimit --Stops you from getting more ammo if you have the maximum amount hl2s_energy --When Enabled, you will stop sprinting if you sprinted for a while hl2s_drowning --When Enabled, you will drown if you stay in the water for 30 secs Some Useful info To change the commands, you need to use the in-game menu found in Utilities/GameSettings. Only the server owner can change these commands. The Ammo Limit, Sprint Energy, and Drowning functions works similar to HL2's, but the drowning fuction doesn't make you lose health, it kills you instantly instead. HL2's Difficulty is similar to HL2's Hard difficulty, only slightly harder. The Extra Hard Difficulty increases the enemy's damage, so it will be quite hard to do. This addon's difficulty modes will be different then HL2's, that is because this addon's difficulty system works different then HL2's. Bugs Due to possible bugs, this addon is not recommended to be used with gamemodes other then sandbox. Having this addon installed while running another gamemode shouldn't cause any bugs, but the commands might. (if you find a bug, please post the error you got in the console, and post what you were doing at the time) Download:
Any way to make it fix respawnable item spawners like in hl2dm maps?
I'm not sure if that is possible, but there are addons/sents that you can can ammo or items from.
Does this actually make the NPCs not die in one headshot?
Does this actually make the NPCs not die in one headshot?
Yeah, It does if you change the difficulty.
I like to set up some kill breen or kill all combine missions (not the crap you see on gmod.org, this is carefully set) and this'll make it better, thanks!
This was fun using the difficulty thing, thanks
Here is something you might want to include: create a con command, such as "hl2s_save" witch acts like a quick-save. On use of command, players next spawn will be set to were the player used the command, and just set a simple timer to prevent spam. this would be better as when you die you wont need to come back from the very beginning of the map. Was just a thought.
Instead of killing instantly when drowning have you tried applying drowning damage? Also, If you havn't tried it yet, your screen fades to blue for a few seconds before you die.
Yay, now we can drown again.
Awesome, I hated not having limits on my character, now RP can get a little more realistic. Thanks man.
How are they broken?
I think they dont even work by default as HL2DM items respawn on their own. There are no "spawners" I think. The items are just coded to respawn after some time in HL2DM by default.
This sounds like a great download but is there anyway i can download it without having to register through the garrys mod site? can i download it some other way?
This sounds like a great download but is there anyway i can download it without having to register through the garrys mod site? can i download it some other way?
Just buy the game for 10 bucks, damn.
My friend who I know bought gmod can't get garrysmod.org to work, but he's probably just dumb.. [editline]10:16AM[/editline] Thanks for the script.. I hated how easy the npcs were to kill.
Does this actually make the NPCs not die in one headshot?
I can not get the NPCs to not die with 1 headshot. I am playing in sandbox and set the difficulty to the highest with the programs in game controls and still nothing. I am kind of stumped All the other things work like the sprint and limited ammo but not the npc head shot damage and I tried multiple things. Need some help. I put the file in the lua/addons as well as the server folder. [editline]14th May 2012[/editline] nevermind i figured it out i guess you have to enable the npc for it to kick in.

Are there any plans to fix this up for Gmod 13? Not all of the tweaks seem to be activated, and the sprint energy bar is glitchy.
Are there any plans to fix this up for Gmod 13? I think there are other mods that do some of the things that this can though. As for the bugs, this was made for a much older version of Garry's Mod, so an update probably messed something up.
Um... Where's the download?
Um... Where's the download?
All you had to do was reply and find the broken code. Here Searching up the title on garrysmod.org also works too.
