Im proud(ohh yes, Im proud like hell :D) to present you my gamemode: Stargate Pegasus Conflicts (short sgpc).
[B]What is it about?[/B]
You may now think: "And and a new foolish gamemode nobody needs". But please be fair and listen before you judge.
My gamemode was mentioned to give stargate fans a new home. It is a first-person shooter with three factions, the replicators, the wraith and the tauri. In a match all three factions fight at the same time against each other. Each faction has two classes(actually the second class of the replicators and the wraith are not playable at the moment, its still alpha) and each class can choose 1 of 5 specifications to suit the class for your playstyle.

[B]How far is the gamemode at the moment?[/B]
We started open alpha right now. We have 2 maps(1 deathmatch and 1 zpm collector), 4 classes that works and a lot of custom content(gamemode has a size of 700mb). So it is playable and its a lot of fun.
[B]How can I play it?[/B]
You just have to download the gamemode files and extract them. I strongly recommend to download the files from this thread or from the homepage. If you download the files from the server they might not work correctly. Also you need the Counter-Strike: Source materials and models for the game. At the moment there is a bug that you need ep2 for some textures in zpm_forest, but this will be fixed sunday with a patch.

[B]What is the concept behind this gamemode?[/B]
Well, we tried to create a shooter where it is important for success to play as a team and not as a bunch of individuals. Also you should feel like if you were a real part of the stargate world. We want that the gamemode needs tactic and skill as a team in order to win. In the deathmatch gametype this may isnt the case, but in the other gametypes you will loose without teamwork and a strategy. With these intentions we started the gamemode in november last year. The team is mainly ProgSys, housegamer(formaly known as house) and me.

I actually have no screenshots here, because I had to set up my computer completly new and I didnt had the time to make some.
There are 2 videos, one of each map, where you can see the maps. We dont have a current video of the gamemode at the moment. But I may add one later.

[B]Will there be a svn for the server files?[/B]
Probably not in the alpha. Maybe when we reach beta stage, but for sure when we leave beta stage.
[B]Installation of the gamemode[/B]
First download the installer or the archive:

Now extract/install them to this directory:
.../steamapps/[your_accountname]/garrysmod/garrysmod
This will install the gamemode files and the maps.
After you have to install patch 0.61:

Yeah, it is still open alpha. We will continue and try to fix all bugs. Also we will continue with implementating the 2 remaining classes and a 4. gametype. If you want to know what we are working on(mainly its about what i am working on) you can read the worklog on the homepage.

There will be a mappingkit which you can easily integrate into your hammer. After you will have everything for mapping. I will release the mappingkit within the next days. Look on the homepage to see if it is avaible.

If you didn't have time, because you were busy with your new computer, maybe you should of held off on this thread until you were ready. I don't understand, did someone have a gun pointed to your head forcing you to submit this thread immediately? I'm sure you could of just postponed until there was actual content. Also, "Open Alpha," wat?
Well, maybe I didn't notice something but there are only 2 maps. Are there something else? for example a gamemode with staff weapons and zats?

Well, may you missunderstood me. It has custom weapons(but using some models from css), 4 playerclasses, each with a unique gameplay, and fully working gametypes. Also 2 maps are available.
Of course nobody forced me to release it. But I wanted to release it and its playable. Open alpha just means that there will be new content coming for this(alpha = in development).
So you are asking what the gamemode has:
- 4 unique playerclasses, each with 5 specifications(perks)
- 2 working maps, 1 Deathmatch map and 1 ZPM Collector map
- All weapons are coded by my own, 6 with custom models and 4 with CSS models
- 2 custom playermodels(for wraith guard and replicator), tauri soldier and tauri medic have hl2 models(temporary)
- complete custom HUD that is working
- custom effects, for example explosions or lowlife effects
- each faction has unique weapons and playstyles, not only different models for the same machinegun(Stunner, replicator claws,p90...)
If you have more questions just ask. I also asked house if he can record a video if we next time play on the server. I will upload it here so that you all can see a bit of how the gamemode is.

Work on the HUD.
Basically it's unorganised right now, feels like it doesn't really belong.
Whats wrong with the HUD? It shows all you need and it doesnt limit your visual field. Could you may explain a bit more in detail whats wrong with the HUD?^^
It's not wrong, I just don't like the design is all.
It feels like you could reorganise it and add some more graphical design into it, I mean, right now it's just boxes.
