Watch the optimization on that map, he released the source files for it a while back if you want to modify it.
Great map, but certain areas can really tank on lower end pcs. Not that this is your target audience.

Yeah this is one of the big problems at the moment, i'm planning to get it to a stable state and then performance optimise everything that can be (networking code, models, map.etc).

this hud sucks, I have no other way to say it. sure it looks cool and shit but any person looking at that would be confused.
is the giant orange one on the left hunger or health? I could guess health because of the location and size but the fact that there is a green circle next to the blue circle would make me second guess that.
I recommend using a small icon or text or just having the colors sorted out a bit better, other then that it looks alright.

Sure, thanks for the input, keep in mind it's all prototype/alpha at the moment. I'm thinking of having an icon above/below it to show what it is at some point but i'm no artist!

I'm telling you what I think is wrong with it because it is a prototype/alpha. Not being an artist isn't an excuse for having an unusable UI.
Though if you released with this I'd more or less make fun of how stupid it is rather than telling you what's wrong with it.

it would, they also take up a lot of the screen for a whole lot of nothing

For the average 12 year old, yes. I am sure there will be some guide on the HUD, and aspects on the gamemode once it is released. But I may be the only one who doesn't know how to play a gamemode or game for the first time...
Anyways, goodluck on the gamemode. I hope Jamez checks back in and sees the progress you've made on his gamemode. I am sure he would be proud.

Either way that HUD doesn't fit the gamemode at all and takes up way too much screenspace, the easing animation would get annoying real quick also
