Small problem I found is sometimes my checkpoint would be set inside a wall causing me to spawn inside the wall and die instantly over and over until the next round. I'm not sure what causes it, it seems to happen when going fast and dying, so it might happen when dying right after getting a check point.

I think that this is the map you are playing on, not the gamemode. Try playing on a different map and see if you have the same problem. I have tried this gamemode and it works perfectly!
The map range is quite limited sadly. There is also a map by garry but it doesn't work properly.
It would be awesome if there was some way this could work with gmod racer maps.
