Skip to 1:15 if you don't want to hear him talk about nothing. Parakeet's Pill Pack is an addon that contains a bunch of pills. Pills turn you into different creatures and machines. Currently the pack contains over 50 pills. There's also an Episodic Extension with a few pills from Episode 1 and 2. It mainly exists to test the extension system, which will eventually be used to incorporate pills from other games. After about three years of working on it, I decided it's good enough to justify making a thread. I got the idea from Nokiaman, who released his pill pack over six years ago on garrysmod.org. Features - Over 50 Pills: Including the Strider, Headcrabs, Zombies, Combine Aircraft and Robots, Birds, Antlions, Beta Synths, Stalkers, Vortigaunts, Soldiers, Rebels, and Rebel Heros. - Joke Pills: Includes the Landshark, Turbobird, Dr. Hax, A Flying Train, and more. - AI Teams: NPCs will not target you if you use a pill belonging to their faction. - Thirdperson and Firstperson. - Administrative Features: Restrict pills or force people to use them. Forever, if you feel like it. - Voice Menu: pk_pill_voxmenu - Currently works with combine, citizens, rebels, and vortigaunts. - DarkRP Integration: Buy pills from the pill merchant! Information and Controls I've never done a good job of documenting the pack. I made this wiki in an attempt to fix that. There's also some scattered information in the discussions, in this guide I made, and on the workshop page itself. I'll try to actually document stuff here. Basics Exit pills using your noclip key. This is sort of really important. Flying Pills Fly up with your jump key, fly down with your crouch key. Advisor Shmack people with left and right mouse. I never added telekinesis or the brain sucking attack because I'm lazy as hell and it would probably require the Episode 2 model. Antlions Normal antlions can burrow using the crouch key. Run and jump to preform a long, low jump. Walk or remain stationary and jump to do a really high jump. All varieties can charge by pressing M2. The worker antlions from Episode 2 (in the Episodic Pack) can shoot acid using the reload key. Birds Normal birds can make noise by hitting M1. The crow and pigeon can eat to restore their health using M2. The turbo bird can fire smaller birds with M1 and do a suicide attack with M2. Scanners No, I will not add a camera flash. Claw scanners can drop hopper mines. The hoppers in the game were terrible so I coded my own equally terrible variety. (But at least they support AI teams. Mostly.) Dropship The dropship can pick up dropship containers (found in Entities>Pill Pack Entities) with the reload key. It can drop soldiers using M1 and fire the container's gun with M2. Containers are single use. Containers can be configured before use by hitting your use key on them. Combine Soldiers The flashlight key can be used to throw grenades. If you are in the air, the flashlight key can also be used to rappel from whatever you're looking at. The metrocop throws manhacks instead of grenades. Combine Turrets Right click to deploy. Crab Synth It does not do anything. Good luck persuading me to make it do something. Dog It has a hidden gravity gun that you can use to grab and punt stuff. You can punch shit with your reload key. Headcrabs Jump to attack. Crouch to burrow. If you kill a bipedal enemy you turn them into a zombie. See zombie controls. Zombies Smack stuff with your left mouse button. All zombies can change back to headcrabs by pressing reload. Normal zombies can do a cool stunt by pressing the flashlight button. Fast zombie jumps work similarly to antlion jumps, but can damage enemies. They can climb walls using M2. Poison zombies can throw headcrabs using M2. Rollermine Enable or disable shocking using M1, Explode using M2, Burrow using your crouch button. You will explode if you take explosive damage or are submerged in water. Otherwise, you are invincible. That still isn't anywhere near complete documention, but it's a hell of a lot closer than any of my other attempts. I'll improve it later. God help me if I ever try to document my cat's ass of an API for creating pills. Servers I currently run a testing server at c0gg.net, but it is sometimes passworded. If you really want to find servers, you can try searching for the convars 'pk_pill_version' or 'pk_pill_packs' on either Gametracker or Gamemonitor. Future Plans - More Packs: TF2, Portal, HL1, L4D, etc. - A Gamemode: Nothing too complicated, just Pills + Minigames. Oh God, what an awful OP.
One bug, I've recently figured out is if you have already turned into something with the pill then turn in to something again without nocliping to go back to normal first it doesn't spawn the weapons etc for specific Npcs.

-snip - Voice Menu: For combine soldiers and stuff. -snip
Yes.

It took me forever because I thought it was being caused by one thing, then spent the whole day trying to find a way to fix it, only to discover that it was being caused by something really easy to fix.
I'm having a problem where certain pills, such as the Advisor, Gunship, Helicopter, Turrets, Landshark, and a few more, fade the screen when I use them. I know it's another addon doing it, because I've disabled all addons except for the pill pack and it worked just fine, but I'm not sure what addon it is. I've looked through my addons several times and read the descriptions to see if it said anything about the screen fading on death, but I can't find anything. If you know of any addons that do this, I'd appreciate it if I had the name of it so I could get rid of it. Thanks Update: I actually just figured out that it isn't because of another addon, because I disabled all addons except for this one and the screen still fades when I use these pills. Is there any way this can be fixed, and is it happening to other people, too?
I think it's one of those dramatic death/fancy death screen addons. I'm actually trying to fix whatever conflicts I can in the next few updates, so I'll see if I can find a fix.
Can the gunship pick up those combine black carriers? and if so how?
Gunship? No. Dropship? Yes. Read the OP.
Gunship? No. Dropship? Yes. Read the OP.
You should add the brain sucking for advisor it would be fun as hell for me to add this to a few community's i'm with and just pop in on a gang and start picking up there mob boss and sucking out his brains and throwing his dead body away ;D
Since it's not in the description I thought I'd mention this addon also takes screenshots and uploads them to a website along with your steam name and steamID whenever you're using the city scanner or other camera related pills.
Prove it
go look in the lua/autorun/1984.lua inside the addon

I was wondering why there was a slight bit of lag when taking a 'picture' with the city scanner. I have to say though, I've been having fun with this addon. A huge improvement to how it was a while ago.

Can you make it so that if you press E or Right click as a zombie you pick up headcrabs? and maybe make it so that you can throw them at something and they will become a zombie of whatever headcrab you have? This will make the pill-pack SO much better, and maybe if you crouch as a headcrab you burrow? EEEEEEEEEDIT!!!!: Also can you make it so that IF you dislodge from a poison zombie, 4 other headcrabs spawn? and make it so that poison zombies only get to toss 4 times? These suggestions would SEVERELY Benefit the pack, -GenStone, With Care EDIT2: Also make it so that Zombies can pickup headcrabs off of ragdolls or corpses,

Is it me or do NPC's have different Kinematics than Players? I feel like their legs actually adjust to changing terrain.
