• Hunting Grounds: A surival PVP RPG

The gamemode is Based on Underdone, and has been almost all rewritten by Raught19. Tons of new features, and such. [B]What are the goals?[/B] Survive. You are prey, fight to become the predator. Scavenge, Craft, Murder, your way to the top! [B]Survive? Are there NPCs?[/B] Yes, bring Friends. My NPCs are based on Silverlan's Monster Base. But only briefly. My NPCs are extremely unique, they actually hunger, starve, poison, and hunt. A starving creature is much more aggressive than a well nourished one. [U][B] [REMOVED FOR NOW][/B][/U] What happens if I die? You loose all your levels and skills. Levels are pretty much to show how long a player has survived, and as you level you can increase skills that help you survive longer. [U][B][REMOVED FOR NOW][/B][/U] [B]PVP?[/B] PVP is extremely complex in Hunting Grounds. You get a large amount of xp based on the Level of your victim. [B]Crafting? What can I craft?[/B] Anything from Guns to Armor, and tons of other secret items. There's over 100 items that can be crafted. [B]Guns? Where?![/B] They must be crafted first. You start the game with a Pellet Rifle, and Pellet Pistol with a small amount of ammo to get you started. All Ammo must be crafted after that. You get a starter book that teaches you some basic recipes for survival. [B] How can I get money?[/B] You can't. There is no money. Its all bartering. So you if want something, you better have something to trade. [B]How do I get Recipes to craft?[/B] Scavenge items from the Wasteland. A Searchable area has a "Search" icon above it. [B]Okay, sounds really cool, when can I play?[/B] EXTREMELY soon! The gamemode has been in production for almost 2 years. I will open up servers for testing very soon. [B] Why does the UI still look like Underdone?[/B] Well, since I actually worked on the original underdone with Polkm. and Created most-if-not-all of the Armor for it, I felt like keeping it the same as an homage to Underdone.[B] Whats so special about this gamemode? [/B] Well besides it having as realistic as possible NPCs, there is no BEST weapon. This sounds like a DarkRP deathmatch fest with even more reason to kill eachother.

I'm not saying you haven't done anything, but when you post a thread with no visual content, [b]everyone[/b] will assume you've done nothing but a dumb edit, you need to post media or people won't care. This is facepunch, 90% of threads created are kids posting retarded edits that can hardly even be called an edit. Media please!

But my intention with the game is to keep it very secret. I've added over 100 recipes, over 70 realistic weapons, theres tons of unique NPCs. And I'm afraid media will spoil it. You see, In Hunting Grounds, you will need to discover how to survive. Its a tough world out there. This isn't a gamemode meant for nubs running in and expecting items to be given to them. Animals actually Hunger, they starve, they hunt, they protect their young, they call for reinforcements. And you must kill, skin, sneak, murder, to survive in this harsh environment. and I plan to only make it more difficult. New NPCs are currently being worked on. Almost the entire script has been rewritten by myself. The only thing almost untouched is the UI. Which I stated my reasonings above. :)
i understand that but showing a pic with a few weapons or recipes isnt going to spoil anything
If you want to get people [b]wanting[/b] to play, and have a good launch, you want to show off what you've done.

I'd like to see spiders removed. I fucking hate spiders.

[B]Hey all! Internal Testing has gone very well :D[/B] More media is coming, I took those pics randomly, but I have more incoming. Been trying to focus on bug squashing and content. Switching maps to gm_atomic, for two reasons. better AI node, and I like the overall look more. Always had enjoyed it since Airslide's Falloutmod. [B]Updates on Game:[/B] -Made crafting more vast, more recipes for lower levels. -Adjusted DMG vs Armor stats -Higher Scavenging Level the more likely you are to finding items. - The Elite Tier Shotgun, Madgibber, now fires shattered glass that causes bleeding to your target. - Elite Tier Hammer, Fracture, now engulfs your enemies in fire for a nice roast :D [B] To Do:[/B] -Make guns slightly easier to obtain. Right now it will take vast amounts of time and people to make a gun. -^ same for melee weapons. -Finish Custom NPC sounds. -Add High Tier Cooking recipes -Add High Tier Engineering Recipes (Grenades, Grenade launchers etc) -^ same for Metal Working -Create unique icons for each weapon. -Mask of Debauchery needs to stop devouring faces. Sorry I've been on vacation for the end of summer. Had some set backs as well. Mic has broke, so its more difficult to give info to my testers haha. Waiting for creature sounds to be done. Recent combat updates: Added in critical hits. Critical hits do double dmg ( or dmg based on a stat, idk yet. what do you guys think of it?) and critical percentage is shown on your UI. Trying to make the game save and reload health values so players cannot just relog to regain full health. Health is Endurance, I don't want people relogging mid fight thinking it will heal them to full. Problem is, the game ALWAYS saves the health value as 100.... Quite annoying. So trying to work on a work around. Right now the game is for the current gmod. Gmod 13's version will probably need a lot of work. But due to be unable to access the beta (for some reason it won't download correctly and keeps itself from uninstalling) I do not know how the gamemode will react to all the changes. EDIT: I got health to save! Go me! Take that seemingly impossible task for unknown reasons!!! :D

Hunting grounds is still in development. Trying to get it to work in Gmod 13. Would suck if all my work is lost next month XD Currently, its pretty much finished and ready to be on a server. I just fear what may come next month lol If anyone who is familiar with Gmod 13, some help would be appreciated :)

If a change is not on one of those pages, then try googling it). After you've done that, you pretty much just gotta debug all errors and bugs you encounter. The GMod 13 BETA section can be of great assistance when debugging.
I hope someone just ports over underdone :( I'm in love with that gamemode.

UPDATE! Good news! Hunting Grounds is almost ported over to Gmod 13! And I've already added some new features! -Offhand items have returned! With a vengeance! -You can now hold certain weapons in your offhand for dual wielding. Offhand weapons have secondary effects fired off when right clicking while holding your main weapon. -While holding a Shield, you have a chance to Block! Completely mitigating damage you would take. Block Chance is based on your overall defense rating. -Also so far the only special effect for Shield is a shield bash, please post if you have any other interesting Ideas! You should probably change the UI from Underdones, I understand you want to pay homage, but paying homage, and using the exact same one are different.
