This is platform is controlled and sustained by only one thruster. A pair of hydraulics control it's position and orientation (it's not directly welded to the plate but at a distance from it, so if the plate rotates it'll move linearly) and a weight to shift the position of the craft's center of mass.

If the lift source (thruster) and center of mass are aligned in two axes, there will be no torque/moment.

By offsetting the weight and thruster, a MAYOR moment can be created (Force at a distance creates torque/moment) . Having the center of mass bellow the thruster increases the moment due to a sideways force (as thrust is vectored), all this achieves control.

Two thrusters control yaw.

Nice work! I tried something somewhat similar a loooooong time ago but I just used wire weights, not a physical one. And mine never worked. Another XXXmags innovation!
I must say xxxmags, you do put the fin tool to good use...and I guess thrusters too.
Wonder if it'd be possible in gmod to make Tesla's centrifugal flying machine?
Fuck, an alt.
Oh wow, I did wieght shifting once while I was coming up with "interesting means of locomotion" on a hover platform. We drag raced them, they topped at 14 mph
you just made us a mars probe. Now I feel like I need to make that hypothetical ares jet probe thing
