Wastelands need no awesome lighting.
That less-than-better-lighting makes for a very atmoshperic shot. It feels like part of town after everything's gone to shit and people have long since stopped shooting each other for oil, and now just seek to survive as peacfully as possible with the underlying threat of a return to violence bubbling just under the surface every time a small collection of people appear in the wasteland.
